Have you ever just wanted to delete older posts of yours?

Basically what the title says. I sure wish I could. Well, technically I can, but I'm just choosing not to because it doesn't make a difference at this point no matter how often I want to sit down and tell the younger version of myself why that post is ridiculous.

For example, my only post in the Love Life topic and my "Natalia Defense" that I made years ago along with others. I still think those are bad, but at the same time, they're kind of a testament for how much I've changed (hopefully for the better). I like to think I wasn't the worse person around, but that doesn't mean I didn't make stupid posts sometimes either. At the moment, I'm just content with changing my sig, avatar, and parts of my profile to something more fitting to my current interests and personality.

So, what about the rest of you?

I used to hate looking at all my old posts for a really long time.

I don't really mind now because, hey, I was a dumb, confused teenager and I accept that.

But not only that, there's a lot of memories and stuff in those posts so I don't think I'd delete them even if I had the choice to.

yes how about my entire post history from 06-08 or so because I was an obnoxious retard. I've even gotten over my pre-06 internet talking because I was just a dweeb who liked friendship and anime and xD and lolz but it's the stuff after that I am truly ashamed of.

However, I don't want to delete them because 1. who cares and 2. it's always good to have perspective and see how stupid you used to be (!?!?)

Which do I want to delete most? My stupid early-teens phase from registration to early 07, my SERIOUS INTERNET FRIENDSHIPS/RELATIONSHIPS phase from 07-09, or my downright weird HEY I HAVE FRIENDS LET'S BE HORRIBLE TO AND SUCCESSFULLY ALIENATE THEM FOREVER phase from 09 to banning? Hmmm

My action to shame gestation time is usually something like a half a year to a year. So yeah. I'm pretty much ashamed of everything I've ever done, constantly. That said, I would never deleted my earlier foolishness. I leave it as a testament to the fact that though I feel good about whatever I'm doing at the moment, there's a 33% chance I'll look back and be just as ashamed of it as I am of those earlier posts.

Also, where else am I going to find a written record of my personal development over...I don't even know how many years anymore. Editing that now feels oddly insincere at this point.

I think I'd be more embarrassed if my posts hadn't changed at all since 2005. at least I can look back and thank god I'm not that EXCITED ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!11 anymore

I can still remember a lot of the stupid posts I made on FF:WA back in '03. Sadly most were deleted for some reason. They were indeed cringe-worthy, but as most have already said: older posts are a testament to how much you've changed.
