I'm surprised a topic for this hasn't been made yet. Sonic Lost Worlds and Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games has been announced so far. What could the third game be? And does anybody even care...

Well, sadly I do care. Sad
Quote:

Update: Nintendo has announced it has entered an exclusive worldwide partnership with SEGA to produce three Sonic games, the first of which will be Sonic: Lost World.

Nothing was revealed about the game other than a screenshot and the fact that it'll be an action-adventure platforming game for both Wii U and 3DS.

More details will be coming prior to E3. One of the other titles has been announced as Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, though it's not yet been revealed what the third one is. Original story follows.

Original Story: SEGA has trademarked "Sonic Lost World" leading to speculation that this will be the title of the next game in the franchise.

Originally spotted by Siliconera, the trademark was filed yesterday by SEGA for use with video games, though it currently only covers Europe.

There's been a fair few rumours lately that the next Sonic the Hedgehog game is already well into development and targeted for a November release, but this is all supposition.

We reached out to SEGA for information on the subject but were told "no comment". In the meantime, be sure to let us know what you'd like to see in the next Sonic game in the comments below. (Hint: with a title like this, omitting dinosaurs would be a crime).

People before third party support: Nintendo, why do you never have any third party support? You're pathetic, all you do is ride off the same rehashes year after year. You're done. You'll never see another console release.

People after third party support: God dammit, Nintendo. What is wrong with you? You think I want to buy your console for exclusives? The game should be on EVERY system. You fail so hard, way to alienate the fans.

I... can't stand gamers mentality these days. It's so painful and unbearable.

ps. this isn't a personal shot at you.

okay, because I actually don't mind it being an Nintendo exclusive. And if someone did think that they interpreted it wrong when I said "Sadly, I do Sad". I meant that I still care about Sonic games. Not that I'm sad because it's exclusive lol.

Sonic Generations gets praise as one of the best Sonic games in decades and reivtalizes the entire Sonic multiconsole genre.

OH NEVERMIND LET'S JUST DEVELOP FOR NINTENDO NOW.

typical Sega logic.

Pretty sure Colors beat Generations to the universal praise punch.

Sonic? What a knockout series that's been lately.

Sony and Microsoft must be fuming.

You're the only person who likes that game, Taiyz.

Werehog did not save the series.

Except Sonic Colours and Generations are literally the same as half of it. (And personally I'm not a fan of the "classic" stages in Generations.)

Credit where credit is due, and it started multi-plat. But oh well, I'm not upset over these exclusives, it just seems like a strange choice considering Sega's issues with money lately, you'd figure they'd want more exposure and not want to limit themselves to a third-party dead zone.

Colors took the good parts of Unleashed, made them better, introduced a grand total of one character (who was actually enjoyable, wouldn't you know!), had amazing writing, revamped the voice cast while keeping the one saving grace, DRILL LASER ROCKET CUBE HOVER FREEEENZY (aka the gimmick was actually enjoyable and accompanied by awesome hotblooded announcer man) music was top tier (but sonic music usually is)

Unleashed set the ground work by having the sonic stages be pretty okay (but still not as polished as colors) and the one good thing about the werehog is that he's Seki and we didn't even get to enjoy that in the west

either way, I'll probably the console ones eventually (still need to play Gens tho)

What character, the robot with voice problems? Also, wasn't the voice-over supposed to be Sonic?

I preferred Unleashed's music by far. I liked the variety and the fact that it was all orchestral and ****.

I really wouldn't say that the level design in either of these three games is better than the others.

MANY KIDS eat Sonic up. I see younger kids eat it up more than Mario, while Mario has more teens+really old asses like us focused on it. Sonic still gets mentioned by reality tv kids, and frequently on trains n busses i hear rings exploded on people's tablets and what not ( I guess sonic 4 part 2 or w/e)

It's hard for me to see sonic as a flop anymore

If you played on the ps360 you had all the seki you could want.

But anyway...I didn't like the modern version of sonic in generations yet I still play unleashed time from time. Colors I still have not played lmfao.

Sonic and the Secret Rings, the Black Knight, Colors, Olympic Games, Olympic Winter Games and London 2012 Olympic Games are Nintendo-exclusives. I'm not sure what the big deal is.

Probably Sonic Jump or Sonic Dash, ripping off popular mobile games and slapping Sonic on it.

I never really noticed it. If that's the case this may be a good move for
Nintendo.

There's been some rumors about the next Mario Kart game featuring Sonic characters because someone at Sega said the third Sonic game being worked on would settle the debate on whether Mario or Sonic would win in a kart race. If Sonic's as popular with younger people as you say, that could end up making Mario Kart Wii U even more of a system seller.
