| This topic is mainly addressed to those who have already played Tales of Xillia in its entirety: without telling me too much about the game, how would you rate the music? Could you explain your reasoning for the rating? I know that Motoi Sakuraba is the composer for Xillia; however, I feel his contributions in Graces (with the exception of a few tracks) aren't as... "memorable" as the tracks in games like Symphonia or Legendia. Don't get me wrong--I really like having Mr. Sakuraba as a composer, and I adore his unique style in music. I'm merely wondering if Xillia's music is more varied and overall more enjoyable. |

Personally, I liked it a lot, especially the town themes. I love the atmosphere his music give the world in this game. Usually town music never marks me but in this case it did a lot.
I liked Milla's battle themes a lot (I'm not that fond of Jude's but they weren't bad), and there's a couple of X2 tracks that are really great. _________________

I thought it was good and one of Sakuraba's better pieces
My only beef was that I recognized one of Jude's battle themes as recycled Mario Tennis N64 music. (Though technically it was just because a friend and I were playing that game for nostalgia's sake. Don't know how much Sakuraba recycled altogether...) _________________ "Oh, NICE! I'm still bleeding in, like, twelve different places! Look at all that blood..." - Asbel Lhant

Xillia's OST is overall good and better than Sakuraba's usual work. Some Xillia 2 tracks are among my favorite tracks the series along with Legendia's. _________________ Icon via iconography. |

I absolutely love Milla's first battle theme, and the victory theme is one of the best in the series.
Xillia 2, I have a LOT of favorite tracks, all of em boss themes... _________________

I honestly don't remember any of the tracks off the top of my head.
I don't remember any of the tracks being bad, but they evidently weren't memorable to me. _________________ Gaming in 2013:

I really liked the music in both Xillia games. Especially the music featured in a region that shall not be named in this post. _________________

| Thanks, everyone, for your descriptive responses--I look forward to Tales of Xillia more than ever, now. I think that music, though not the most important component in video games, is essential in creating a link with the story, the settings, the characters, etc.; and, ultimately, helps the players become that much more immersed within them. Music makes for unforgettable experiences. |
