It doesn't... seem to fit with the other suites to me... The Chase and the ArchAndroid fit together from the same story, this sounds... strange

the song is just so flawlessly put together.
That guitar riff from the start is perfection, and just before the uptempo section would get stale, Erykah pops in and starts singing over some slow jam version of the original production. And then there's the string section at the end...

I wish it wasn't so out of place in the Metropolis story though. Janelle is so forward and timeless all at the same time, I do not need or want to hear her singing about servin shade and twerking and other things that'll be virtually unknown in like two years

Are you actually hearing the lyrics though? The song is an empowerment anthem for herself and 'others' similar to her, not about twerking or serving shade lol
I think the people complain that it won't fit in the story need to realize that this is one song out of an album that is going to be probably more than 12 tracks long, and that tracks on the Archandroid taken out of the context of the album would seem out of place. |

Really? I don't think so. Everything from The Chase and The ArchAndroid sound cohesive and work together, lyrically speaking, even the odd choices like a Big Boi rap. This doesn't lyrically seem to fit in at all. There are some weird lines in here that just don't fit at all with the last three suites. It's just very hard for me to reconcile Q.U.E.E.N with the rest of this set of suites.
It doesn't help that it's sonically lackluster too.
