Well then, this sucks.
I already have the Japanese UMD version and have beaten it several times. Wasn't really going to buy this since I don't support digital download games, but I really feel bad for anyone in Canada or certain parts of Europe who are getting blocked from buying this excellent game.
Seriously though, since when is Canada considered a separate region from the United States? Since when do certain EU counties get games others don't?
This is exactly why I HATE digital distribution and refuse to support it in any means. Having 3 regions is bad enough, having a potential 196 will really suck hard core. |

It's not that hard but you have to reset your PSP/Vita as it can only hold one account at a time, unlike the PS3.
Enjoy it though, it's awesome (the game).
Honestly though, I fear for consoles like the next Xbox. I don't think Microsoft is going to be so generous as to let you purchase content from other country's stores, especially since they already locked down the XBL Marketplace by IP address. |

they aren't getting "blocked" they just are not able to buy it in their country, stop that rhetoric

I found digital distribution to be great. Since it gives me access to several games that are unheard of in my country or that had limited prints like Atlus games. It took me over one year to find Devil Survivor Overcloked in a store, and the import price was high.
Persona 4 Golden, too, since it seems unexistant in my city; and the digital copy I bought on PSN was way cheaper than if I imported it.
Plus, the shipping here sucks, since for no reason they hold the package for one week. DAMN YOU ESTAFETA!

If 3DS had an account system I would buy all my games online.
Digital distribution also keeps game prices down for those who buy systems late in their cycle.
Then there is the entire indie game scene which wouldn't exist without digital distribution.

But you guys who love digital distribution have to look at it this way:
Sony is being nice enough to let you buy things off servers that aren't yours. They can change this at any time, easily. Microsoft already blocks you if your IP address isn't in the correct region, and so does Steam. In essence, digital distribution can be a FAR more effective form of region locking if they actually enforce it.
And I'd rather they not have that power. So, I'm going to continue refuse to buy digital, and keep buying only physical games until they pry the option hands.
.......I'm probably going to end up as one of those hardcore-retro gamers in the end.

Dunno, if you keep this up they might not only cancel the localization but remove all text and voices from the Japanese version to boot. A delocalization, if you will.
