I rekindled my fire for this series and I'm in the mood for some games to play.

So far the only available system I have to play them on is the DS (if they're any good) and the ps3. I remember liking one I played on the 360 but I couldn't remember the title. It was a free-roam adventure title.

Did the ps2 fighting series move to the ps360?

And whatever else I may not know about.

Gay, I'd have to play it on a friend's 360 then. That's definitely it, though.

edit: Naruto ultima was what i was looking for apparently. On the ps3 hooray.

And wow the dub is awkward. oooh cheee haaah

"Over 80 characters" are you serious

They are largely the same while the story mode and field exploration are obviously different. Storm 1 goes through pre-Shippuden, Storm 2 is Shippuden to Pain and Generations is a mix of the two, I think it goes a bit further to the Kages. They changed the way they handled chakra, clashes, ninja substitutions, ougis and the like. And there's no online for Storm 1.

RPG and Scroller. Fighter sounds like bad beat em ups or shoddy fighting games found on handhelds

So do I skip storm entirely? Since I do plan to try out 3.

The story is decent, in case you want to jump through pre-Shippuden in more detail than Generations. Online is quite infuriating... so I would just hold off unless if you tend to jump into Storm 3 on day 1 and hope to catch up with the rest.

For rpg you have Naruto: path of the ninja 1 + 2

For scroller we have: Naruto shippuden: naruto vs sasuke also Ninja council 4

Just in case, for fighters: jump ultimate stars is extremely fun and plays like a smash bros. I actually started replaying it recently ( also has other jump characters from bleach, dbz, one piece, and reborn! )
