I happen to like holiday-themed things in games. I loved the winter level in Banjo Kazooie (Freezeezy Peak?) and I have a thing for Christmas-themed character costumes (today I bought Mila's for DoA5, and the Minecraft 360 Edition's Festive Skin Pack.)
What are some of your favourites? _________________

I always sort of wished that I had picked up "Silent Night Sona."
I also feel like they should release Christmas NiGHTS as DLC for the HD remake of NiGHTS.
Then there's the Guild Wars 2 holiday stuffs I have yet to get to...
[Edit] Derpaderp. Apparently Christmas NiGHTS is already included in the remake. I really need to get on that... _________________

Just reporting in to note that I got the level name right. Awesome! (Still took me a moment to wrack my brain while I was writing the OP.) Definitely one of the more memorable songs of Banjo Kazooie too IMO.
And yeah, it was cool of Sega to include Christmas NiGHTS in there, but I wasn't a big fan of the game itself unfortunately.
Something from my childhood, I think I remember there being a Christmas version of Lemmings that was pretty good...Nothing special, just like extra levels with a theme, but still felt like bringing it up. Better Christmas game than Elf Bowling. No chance of wiping your hard drive either. _________________

Also obligatory mention of Final Fantasy VII going from the Aeris tragedy to doing MAD TRICKS on a snowboard within 20 minutes of gameplay time, winter town with snowmen included _________________

Harvest Moon
Harvest Moon 64
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature/Friends of Mineral Town
And now we get into where there's no longer much of any nostalgia linked to them for me but still good:
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life (don't much care for this one compared to the rest)
Harvest Moon: Magical Melody (this one seems especially Christmassy to me.)
And I'm gonna stop here as I've already linked way too many tracks as it is.
Really though, just Harvest Moon in general has SO MANY MEMORIES for me. Not only were the first two games in the series Christmas gifts for me, but I'd play the games the most during the slow winter months.
I just wish I had the time to play them these days.
I still fondly remember spending entire HM64 winters in the mine, or in the greenhouse once I had one built. Winters in the first Harvest Moon were boring as hell, though. Nothing to do but tend to the livestock and pick herbs all day. _________________

I really liked that one Sonic the Hedgehog level, Icecap Zone. Dat music.
Thank you for reminding me how glorious that game was. _________________

Dat HM FoMT Winter theme... ;_;
Ice Cap Act 1 is pretty rockin'
I've always liked the Valley of Repose theme from Pikmin 2, White Labyrinth from Destiny, Snow theme from Kirby 64, and who could forget the jolliest of them all, Frosty Village from Diddy Kong Racing. (My personal fave for the Christmas feel B) ) |

I would have totally bought Mila's, along with Ayane, Kasumi, and Hitomi's if only they were sold individually not just in bundles. I hate wasting points on costumes for characters I have no desire in using.
Anyway first thing that comes to mind is the Santa Workshop level in Kingdom Hearts 2 and while it's not holiday-related there is the beginning level in Scott Pilgrim vs The World.

I could grind that level for hours just because of the music. _________________ *Sig by WarriorAngel01*

Man...Harvest Moon. That's a series that I keep meaning to get back into. The thing is, I want to play Back to Nature specifically, the PS1 game. Every time I hear about Friends of Mineral Town though, I never get a straight answer as to whether it's a new game with the same town or a direct port, or if a lot of content was modified or whatever. Tracking down the PS1 original is tricky, but a copy on the GBA would be easier.
At least I could get Harvest Moon 64 on the Virtual Console...Really, the N64 is my favourite console so I like pretty much everything on there.

Edit: Don't remember the Kirby one, but definitely remember the DKR song. Great stuff. _________________

Friends of Mineral Town can be considered both a new game and a port, really. My opinion though is a port. I think the most accurate way I would describe FoMT is "a heavily modified GBA port of BTN." It takes place on a nearly identical map, all the characters are the same, and their roles are the same. But there are heavy differences as far as in-game events, from what I remember. _________________

So basically the script is all-new but everything else is the same? _________________

Pretty much, yeah. The overall plot is pretty much the same as well, but uh, that's because there typically isn't much plot in a HM game beyond giving you a back story to how and why you've come to live on the farm.
EDIT: Specifically Harvest Moon games up to that point, anyway. I believe Save the Homeland, while I haven't played it, is where the series first started to focus a bit more on plot and give you more unique plot-specific reasons for farming. Magical Melody has those notes to collect, for instance. _________________
