Has anyone else noticed that Halo 4 really hates you for not having Gold? First, you can't play the co-op campaigns that are on the disk.
Second, there seems to be no way to customize your spartan for multiplayer without gold.
Third, guests are a waste of a player slot. In Halo 3, the only difference between a guest and a gold member was they couldn't play some game modes. Other then that, they were on an even field. Now, with loadouts that you have to unlock, and guests not having loadouts, guests have to use the default load all the time, making them at massive disadvantage to gold players.
Another problem with the game is that it forces you to buy a new HDD if you have one of the old models or none, for no reason at all. To play multiplayer, The Game needs to use 8GB of your hard drive as DRM. _________________

Halo Reach had the same issue. You need a hard drive to play it.
The only legitimate complaint you have is the loadout thing IMO. Guests should mirror the unlock progress of player 1.
Spartan Ops I assume are disabled because they are run like a TV series, getting new episodes every couple weeks or whatever for free, right? Gold is your subscription fee, so it makes sense. If Firefight's still around, you should be able to play that locally without Gold, by my logic (er, you could play it locally in Reach, couldn't you?)
Do you play as your multiplayer Spartan in campaign co-op? If not, the feature isn't relevant. _________________

After unlocking more things, I found that guests do get to use some of the unlocks as well. It isn't bad as it first seemed. _________________

I had to install the hard drive from my old 360. Didn't enjoy finding out that it took up so much space. _________________
