Okaayyy...
And then I was like.
HolyADSfGHT! Awesome.
Honestly, this seems to be an entertaining and action packed movie that I can sink my teeth into. I'll be sure to check out.

I almost didn't make it to where the plot got "interesting". And exactly why you're so enamored with the movie became even more evident.

There's plot there somewhere but even if it isn't much it's still an action flick with chicks kicking all kinds of ass in the style of 300 so yeah I'll give it a watch.

It's about a girl committed to a mental institution after her parents die. She starts having trippy fantasies where she and her friends are fighting in some alternate universe. It gets to a point where it's hard to separate which parts are fantasy and which parts are reality.
It's Alice in Wonderland re-imagined as a technopunk / dystopian future story.
I just like that kind of stuff.
Also, it's basically tailor-made for fans of the Girls With Guns anime genre. Notice how the main character spends half of the trailer dressed in a skimpy version of a Japanese school uniform while using a lot of guns to fight dragons and samurai and robots and robot samurai etc.

Yes I realized all of that, along with the fact that it's shot in a sickeningly stylized manner that's been popular in films with heavy amounts of CGI and violence.
All of the girls in the mental institution looked like prostitutes.

When I saw the commercial for this on tv I figured someone at tales was going to go crazy over it.
I just can't get over how playboy bunny-ish the main girl looks. I think the entire concept of the movie is normal/nothing special, but she doesn't even look like a kickass heroine or anything.
And I don't get what the purpose of her schoolgirl outfit is. |
