Haven't seen a topic for this yet, so ... here:
A new series on the CN, featuring Robin, Kid Flash, a Black Aqualad, Martian Manhunter with Tits and Freckles, and whoever the blond in green is (she's not in the show yet, but, I assume she's from Green Arrows roster ... I should know this stuff, shouldn't I?). If you're a fan of cartoon network's run on Teen Titans, like I was, then this is a good ... something else to move on to.
To answer your first question, no, Scott Menville isn't reprising his role as Robin ... much like he never reprises his roles in ... anything. But Jesse McCartney, or Roxas for all you Kingdom Hearts II fans, so far's doing a descent job. And uh ... OH, the guy who voiced Cyborg in Teen Titans now voices the black Aqualad (he's my fave character in this show, and I keep forgetting his actual name. damn me.) I could go on about the casting, including Speedy who so far isn't part of this team but might later on, voiced by Crispen F***ing Freeman, but I might as well get to the topic at hand.
Why is this show awesome? Good animation with great action scenes. Descent dark storylines for a kid show. And, unline Teen Titans which subtly, and I mean VERY SUBTLY, brings awareness to the rest of the DC universe (take a look, they never say Batman or imply that Superman exists), Young Justice in it's first few episodes does THIS:
Oh yeah, it's not just a show about DC sidekicks, it's a fully DC show, no one's off limits (atm). So for those who're missing Justice League Unlimited (like you all should, you bastards) this is also a good place to move on.
It's called Young Justice, but, it MIGHT AS WELL be Teen Titans v.2. It's not really like the comic series, I haven't read it but I KNOW it's not like the comics too much, since it uses first generation sidekicks (dick grayson as robin and wally west as kid flash) and just sets them in modern day. And they're making this universe their own, hence, doing whatever they want with the team and other heroes or villains, everything is up for grabs, hence there's surprises at every turn and I won't have to watch it wondering what comic storyline they're TRYING to rehash. (EX: The recent episode with the Young Justice squad teaming up with a very latin Bane ... voiced by Danny Trejo! Haha, awesome!)
Wow, that was a long intro ... oh well. If you've been keeping up with the show like I have, discuss episodes here. If this is the first you're hearing of it, look the show up right away, you won't regret it. Or, at least give it a chance.

They already confirmed that some characters WILL die. And I just know it's gonna Aqualad.

I wikipedia'd Brian Beacock and it DOES say he voices Robin. It's wrong, but, people can mistake a clever joke like that.

Same here... I thought it made sense to use Tim for a change. At this point I would have rather seen Damian than Dick as Robin again. Really like the show thus far though. I find Superboy's anger issues to be hilarious(in a good way).
I just keep expecting Aqualad to say, "Booyah!?"
Now I'm sad though, cause I just remembered how much I miss JLU. :[ |
