Anybody tried the demo? How more unoriginal do you think Bioware can get?
I never played the first one, but if it's the same, I don't get all the fuss behind it, then.
Nice hook up to buy the game at the end, too. _________________

There's a really disgusting joke I could make here.
It involves Cheria sometime after having Asbel's babby. |

I think that would be an upgrade, sadly this is completely false.
Plays far more like an MMO than any Dynasty Warriors game (at least on PC) _________________

The PS3 and 360 versions of the demo are more action oriented. _________________

Honestly, I prefer the combat in this one to the first one.
I haven't ever played Dynasty Warriors or whatever one is comparing it too, but I like what I saw in the demo. _________________

The combat is, like, exactly the same as the first one, the flourishes and lovely spell effects aside. Yes, you have to consistently press the X/A button in the demo, but you can also set it to work the old way too once the options menu is unlocked for the final version.
Still, the visual upgrade alone is definitely helpful, plus I very much prefer the skill panel layout in this one since it seems you can more easily circumvent spells and talents you don't want.
But ... I really hope they fix relationships in this. Morrigan and Leliana both insisted that we were in a relationship and forced me to go through a breakup sequence even though I never indicated I wanted to start a relationship. Or, well, I didn't pick any options that clearly started a relationship as far as I could tell. It was just like they were desperate clingy people who imagined we were going out and went psycho when I suggested otherwise. _________________

Wait, DA2's graphics are an UPGRADE from DAO?
What the hell did you need to run Origins, a P4? _________________

Origins' graphics are pretty horrendous. The environments are drab, the textures are often bad, the armors are mostly palette and texture swaps that look ugly to begin with, the spells were just unforgivably atrocious, the characters have these awkward necklaces and big-collared clothes to conceal the shoddy manner in which the heads are attached to the body rigging, and it's just totally inconsistent with the published art. DA2 is worlds better if only because they actually took a step toward stylistic consistency. _________________

The close shots in DA2's demo are still horrendous. Some textures are downright terrible. _________________

Considering I assume you saw Flemeth in the demo, you can compare her to her Origins form here. _________________

Not sure why everyone has such a huge problem with the quicker combat. The game played mostly the same too me, with auto-attacking and movement slightly quicker, which I appreciated. The Rogue flips are over the top and the camera when using the Backstab ability is awful, but the new Mage animations are much improved.
People complain that it's not as tactical as the first one, just mash to win, but the demo is the first fights of the game on Normal. DA:O wasn't very tactical on Normal, heck it wasn't very tactical on any difficulty if you had no qualms about abusing broken spells/abilities. |

I prefer her design in DA2, indeed. _________________
