Tales of Vesperia Translation Project

hey people im currently looking for fluent japanese volunteers that could help translate the ps3 version for ToV, we are trying to make a group in co-operation with the Tales of Graces F translation group in order to finally localize that well anticipated release!! We have made alot of progress in the game's string.svo enabling you to play the game with perfect english menus, sub menus and configuration screens and we are in the final beta testing phases of that ordeal. . . Unfortunately we lack any progress with the scenario since we dont have any fluent japanese people willing to partake in such a massive project . . . So it would definitely be a huge favor for all ToV ps3 users out there if someone with the sufficient linguistic skills would help aid us in our project, soooo without further ado if anyone is interested in making history here please add me on skype: leonspade or msn: nine_tailed_demon@hotmail.com

A PS3 translation patch would be great.

I unfortunately lack the proper skills or time to help you, but best of luck. And may I suggest possibly consulting the script translators (from the script fan translation thread, also on this page) for help with translating?

HOT NEW UPDATE!!
we FINALLY managed to get everything from the 360 version into the ps3 (YES! including the scenario) now we are only waiting for someone to translate some lines from all the new additional content on the ps3 and we'll finally be able to localize tht awesome title!!

If I'm comprehending this correctly (sorry, it's late and I'm a bit liquored up so I just want to make sure), you're saying that you have pretty much everything from the 360 version translated in the PS3 version?

yeah except a few minor things such as skits and some NPC chats, but practically everything else is there in english except ofcourse the added content which im still in the process of looking for someone to help me with translating . . .

Wow, nice work. Good luck finding someone. Hopefully this game will have a patch available when I feel like playing it again.

Wow. Some questions.

-You're making this compatible with R3volution, right?
-Are you going to have subtitles for in battle sayings and the end of battle conversations? I think you should!
-Are you considering c/p'ing the English voices for what is voiced? I'm not sure if it would be the best idea, as that could possibly open the void to copyrighted material, and there would be Japanese voices for other things, but English for others, but have you thought about it?
-Are you going to make a website?
-I was looking at this thread, and I think it would be really cool if the patch would allow us to get those costumes! Apparently, their in-game, just not attainable without hacking.
-Are you going to have it set up so that if we download DLC costumes, those will be translated too?

actually all we managed to complete now are the menus and the main scenario, we are currently having problems with the skits and some NPC chats . . . Unfortunately thou, we cant advance any further if we dont have translations for the rest of the main scenario since there things that were changed due to the 2 new party members patty and flynn . . . Also it wont be in the form of a patch, ur just going to have to switch the scenario.dat and string.svo files . . .

more or less but lyk i said we cant proceed any further if we cant find a suitable translator to help out with all the extra content

Well hot damn, that's great news. Since I've played the ever loving **** out of Vesperia lately, hopefully by the time I feel like playing it again the patch will be finished.
