Based on a spoiler that was revealed to me I assessed that he must have mentioned something about his wife being pregnant. The whole blood test thing naturally led me to that conclusion.

Also, this show is absolutely amazing. I finished watching the season finale yesterday and now I'm upset I have to wait until next year to find out what happens next. ;_;

His character is incredibly obnoxious and trigger happy. If it weren't for the fact he's useful in a crisis I wouldn't be able to put up with him. His character's brother is even worse though.

He'll simply just be something of a captain hook of the series, popping in every now and again to make things harder but the smart and witty main character will find a way to out smart the dastardly fiend. Oh, and Merle's brother will continue to ***** and moan about stuff and go off the handle every chance there's emotional tension in the air.

I think he's a fun character. Definitely a good contrast with the more reserved characters. And he does a lot of the shooting/beheading one would expect from a zombie story. Again, a good contrast to the more dialogue-centric scenes, to keep some people interested.
