I didn't recognize it at first, they were calling it an action-packed fantasy for adults. Then it hit me: A Game of Thrones. *gasp* While I heard about it before, it looks like they're starting to show some development interviews and production shots from the upcoming HBO adaptation of the fantasy novel. It's coming in 2011 with Sean Bean as Ned Stark. I love the intrigue in A Song of Fire and Ice, I've never been so hyped for a TV show.

My best friend has been reading these books lately and he's really been liking them. He's excited for the show, too.

I'm wondering, though, if someone (me) who's never read the books and knows nothing about them could watch this show and enjoy it. I imagine the show is just the story of the books, so I'd hope yes. If so, I'd like to watch it.
