Happy they're making a new Valkyria. Sad it's on the PSP. I might get excited once I finish VC2.

Basically, the creators said that VC will remain on the PSP until they've come up with "revolutionary new ideas" for the series that warrants a PS3 release.

Hopefully, what they said isn't just an excuse to rapidly churn out more PSP VC games for quick money. I want VC on its full HD glory (with large-scale battlefields, large amount of soldiers and tanks spread out in the battlefield, beautiful CG cutscenes, etc), dammit. I don't really like VC2's small, area-based maps. They just don't feel as epic as VC1's large battlefields.

Nonetheless, I'll still end up getting this game, since I love Valkyria Chronicles so much.

I wanted it to be on PS3. I'm disappointed. Sad

Also what's with the obvious zettai ryouiki. It's supposed to be a war game. That's really cheap and obvious fanservice.

Um...the first game had it too. The military uniforms were never really up to code, and half the females wore skirts.

The most depressing part about this is that VC3 seems to be made of fan service. Of course I'd rather have this series on PS3 (where it belongs imo) but if it is still a quality entry I can let it slide. However, VC3 seems to be anything but that.

Using the VC1 events for the setting? I can buy that, sounds like a gaiden game. Except no dramatic change is being made to the gameplay as they have made so apparent. So really this game just sounds like DLC for VC1 that they decided to put on PSP instead. I mean at least VC2 took place after 1. Not to mention that fact that VC2 just came out this year.

You should wait until more info before saying that and judge it as a little game of DLC level.

For those who hasn't known about this title, Andriasang have translated the article.

Not really mind the removal of multiplayer, as I don't have friends with PSP and the game here.
VC2 is released on January 21 2010 in Japan. When this hit Japan, it'll be roughly a year after VC2, making it yearly like Yakuza series.

Exactamundo. The first statement is pure, void, ********. VC2 just didn't cut it Sega, we don't care if you don't have anything new for the series, we'd rather you take an extra year, and give us a higher-fidelity, longer-lasting game. When you have a franchise with such enjoyable mechanics, it doesn't matter how often you repeat the former if you space it out wisely. Not only did VC2 already kill the formula with a minimalist viewpoint, but you're doing the same unimpressive level of content AGAIN.

Weren't outfits like that in the first and second game? It's anime, always expect the chracters to wear something unbefiting their surrounds.

Yes, but compare this with this. That's a huge difference.

I find it ridiculous that so many people are disappointed at the series simply because it's still on the PSP. Yeah it's not going to have the amazing graphics and large scale battles that the original had, but the second game has proven to me at least that the series works on the PSP, and if that's the route they have to take for now, then so be it. I personally think the second game took the series in the right direction, and if the third game continues to improve on the ingenious "battle system" they have created, then I have no reason to not be excited for this.

I'm quite interested that the story is now going to focus on a what is pretty much a band of criminals. And while I am enjoying the mission based structure of Valkyria Chronicles 2, it's good to see that they're going back to the storybook style for the third game.

Though truthfully, what I want more than anything out of Valkyria Chronicles 3 is improved A.I., because I think that's one of the bigger flaws of the series as a whole.

Well, the first game is on HD console, and then both the sequels come to handheld.

Well, Riera's outfit is different from Alicia and Imca's. It seems like she wears custom uniform.

I like how everyone is saying this is now a cash-in series because it's on the PSP.

If it was on the PS3, no one would've said anything.
