Story
Rend, slaughter, devour your enemies! There is no other way to survive. You cannot escape your hunger, warriors of purgatory!

Year 2035. Tokyo, Japan. Numerous people have gathered outside to witness the next solar eclipse. However, this solar eclipse will be the one that changes everything.

During the solar eclipse, it begins raining blood. Anyone touched by this "Blood Rain" is branded with an Atma, a marking on their body which enables them to transform in to a vicious demon.

Branded with an Atma yourself, and trapped in a quarantined Tokyo, you have two choices: Devour others and survive, or resist your hunger and die. There are also those who would use their newfound powers to realize their own ambitions. It's up to you to decide which path you will take...and where it will end.

Rules
1. No godmodding. This means no making characters that are unkillable and can kill everything else just by poking them.

2. Do not control other RPer's characters without their permission. This also includes their reactions to an attack.

3. Do not kill off other RPer's characters, unless they give you permission.

4. Please don't try to drastically alter the plot. We're flexible with the plot but nothing drastic like spontaneous explosions that kill everyone.

5. Respect other RPers. I really shouldn't have to explain this because it should be common sense. Don't be rude to other RPers. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all.

The Mantra System
The Mantra System is used to learn skills, but it works differently from the games. Instead of being a computer program, a Mantra is an actual physical object. As you devour enemies, a Mantra will "grow" within you. Once you have devoured enough enemies and received enough Atma energy, the Mantra will become fully grown and will manifest itself as a small crystal. Once the Mantra has manifested itself in crystallized form, it can be equipped by anyone to learn new skills. This means you can exchange Mantras with allies for an enhanced team dynamic.

Double post, but these are my character bios to give you an example.

Name: Ryuuji Shiba
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Height: 6'1"
Occupation: College Student
Preferred weapon: Revolver
Appearance: Ryuuji stands at an above-average 6'1", with an athletic build, black hair, olive skin tone and crimson red eyes. His usual attire is a red t-shirt with a white blazer on top, a pair of blue jeans and brown dress shoes. He also has an earring in his left earlobe and wears glasses.
Personality: Ryuuji is very outgoing and slightly overconfident, as well as intelligent. He has few enemies, but plenty of people are jealous of his innate talent at almost everything he does. A side that he doesn't show to people, however is a much more undesirable one. Ryuuji is a very judgmental person and something of an elitist, only associating with those who he deems worthy to.
History: Ryuuji grew up in a moderately sized house with his parents and his younger brother, Heiichiro, who is 7 years his junior. Life was good until his parents died in a car accident when he was 18, shortly after he finished high school. His plans to go to high school were postponed so that he could take care of Heiichiro until he enrolled in high school, much to Ryuuji's disdain. He still holds a grudge on Heiichiro to this day.

Atma Symbol Description: The "Judge's Fang" appears as a canine fang with a balancing scale on Ryuuji's left cheek, and grants him the form of Anubis, Egyptian god of death and the judge of the dead.

Appearance: Heiichiro stands at an average 5'7" with a slender build, neck-length black hair, olive skin tone and piercing green eyes. His usual attire consists of a blue buttoned t-shirt, with blue jeans and white sneakers. He is also solemnly seen without his white beanie, which he wears almost all the time.
Personality: Unlike his brother, Heiichiro is much more shy and reserved. He only has a small circle of friends, but those who have befriended him can vouch for his friendliness and bravery. While he may be shy, he's very kind, almost to a fault, and is a good leader.
History: Heiichiro grew up with his brother Ryuuji and his parents in a moderately sized house in the Shibuya district. 6 years ago, however, his parents died in a car accident. The loss hit Heiichiro hard, And he spiralled into depression. Many times, Heiichiro had attempted suicide or had been hospitalized for self-inflicted wounds. He eventually recovered by the time he reached high school, however, and now lives alone while his brother Ryuuji is in college.
Other: Heiichiro is a huge fan of martial arts movies, and practices Kendo as well. He was also bullied often when he was young, which has led to his shyness. He's also a bit of a goof, which has earned him a reputation amongst his inner circle as a class clown of sorts.

Atma Symbol Description: The "Trickster's Wing" appears as a bat wing surrounded by drops of blood on Heiichiro's right shoulderblade, and grants him the form of Loki, the Norse trickster god.

Demon Form's Appearance: Loki appears as a blue-skinned humanoid with long blond hair. He wears tattered garbs, with shackles around his wrists and ankles, and has a pair of blue bat wings on his back.

Demon Form's Type: Loki is a nimble fighter, capable of dodging and outrunning many enemies. His main offense consists of magic, while physical attacks take a backseat.

Demon Form's Skills:
-Zan: Deals light Force damage to one enemy
-Mazan: Deals light Force damage to all enemies
-Trickster: Loki distracts the enemy, then stabs them in the back for extra damage. Doesn't always work, however.
-Poison Gust: Loki flaps his wings, unleashing a poisonous gas that poisons all enemies within a small area in front of him.

Appearance: Akita looks like a man who’s lost himself a little. He has once-short hair which is now scruffy and beginning to grow, and what was once stubble is steadily developing into a full beard. His blue eyes are usually dull and inactive, but if he’s excited, they become wide and manic, moving around frantically. He has quite chunky features, with a blocky nose and wide chin. His usual attire consists of a stained vest or T-shirt and an old military jacket, with a battered pair of your regular jeans.

Personality: Akita cares little for people. He doesn’t bother with manners, and rarely speaks to anyone. However, he naturally gravitates towards the idea of order and hierarchy in particular; this was one of the things which drew him to the military. He has a long-held dream of heading the leading an army on a crusade to smite evil, which is his driving passion. However, he actually has few scruples. He desires to fight, not to actually do good.

For all he dreams of being a great leader, he actually lacks the necessary interest in his troops, and does not always respond well to orders. Regardless of this, he is a superb tactician when he enters the battle mindframe, and he fights dirtily, without mercy.

History: Akita grew up in Tokyo, a city boy from a family with little money. He was never very good at making friends, preferring to spend his time with his ever-growing collection of manga and Western comics. Unskilled at making friends, Akita began to develop a fascination with weapons due to their prevalence in the literature he so loved. He began to watch films about the army at the age of 11, after seeing To Hell and Back.

At the age of 18, as soon as he was able, he joined the army. His service spanned 10 years, including two full tours of duty. Eventually, however, he was discharged from the service due to mental instability. In the four years that ensued, he has been in and out of jobs and flats, not knowing where to go or what to do with his life.

Atma symbol appearance: A shield shape surrounded by a laurel wreath.

Demon form: Michael
Demon form’s appearance: Michael is a white and stony-looking humanoid, with complex patterns adorning his jutting shoulders like carvings on architecture. His arms appear as though he is wearing enormous black gauntlets reaching up to the elbows, and his legs appear similar up to the knee. His head is shaped as though he is wearing a simple metal helmet. On his back, a stone-like carving suggests curling wings, but they don’t do anything much.

Demon form’s type: Michael specialises in physical attacks and offensive buffs.

Demon form’s skills:
Megafist – Michael delivers a punch which causes an explosion on impact.
Demonfoot – Michael brings his foot down in a scissor kick which causes an explosion on impact.
Acceleration – Michael boosts the target’s attack strength and speed.
Demonhide – Michael gives the target an immensely thick hide, boosting their defense.

Name: Hanaiko Sabura.
Age: 27.
Gender: Male.
Height: 5"5.
Occupation: Shop keeper/Medical inventor.
Preferred weapon: Throwing knives.
Appearance: Hanaiko has light brown hair, brown eyes and a pair of round glasses. He has a slim build while wearing a light blue or maybe sometimes black t-shirt, a green hoodie, blue jeans and a pair of converses that he adores, since his mother was the one that gave him them. However he only where's his green hoodie when he is managing the shop, since there is no central heating and his grandmother says that she and her husband, Hanaiko's grandfather, can't afford it. Also when he is in the shop he wears a kind of apron, which protects his clothing from the chemicals that he uses to make the medicine that the shop sells.
Personality: He's usually a kind person to all and his job makes that a necessary trait. But when someone wind's him up or get's him angry so much, his voice could even be able to scare away a lion. Another thing is he since he doesn’t have many friends, he spends most of his time playing Texas Hold 'em on the internet, using up the money he gets from working at the shop.
History: When he was young, his parents had been in debt so much that they started borrowing money from loan sharks. After a visit from the loan sharks, after they couldn't pay the money back in time, they were put in hospital with broken backs and broken spines. They were basically dead, no movement, no speech and no interaction. Hanaiko's grandparents decided to turn off the life-support of Hanaiko's parents, otherwise they would live a very painful life. At the age of 18 after passing his exams in medicine, he decided to work in his grandparent’s shop, where they make and sell general medicine to help people with coughs to broken arms. Hanaiko makes extra effort in his job after what happened to his parents.

Atma Symbol Description: A monkey's hand

Demon Form: Ahuizotl
Demon Form's Appearance: Ahuizotl is a creature that's half human half monkey, with a hand at the end of the tail. The Ahuizotl was actually a creature that lived in the water; it snatched people who got to close to the waters edge, or sometimes attacked fishermen on their boats. The Ahuizotl was a much-feared creature due to its fondness of eating human flesh.

Demon Form's Skills:
-Ahuizotl Grab: grab's the enemy with his hand on his tail. Then he throws them about until he gets bored then chucks them onto the ground.
-Rapid Jabs: lots of light punches at the stomache to wind the enemy.
-Evade Escape: gains some speed the quickly avoid damage if he is in danger.
-Finisher: when an enemy is nearly dead, he jumpsin the air and all his fists come down in a finisher move to deal the final blow.
