Did no one buy this? It kind of slipped under the radar, but I'm surprised there's not a topic on the first page about it. I don't think anyone's said much about it since the general announcement came through from XSEED about Seven, Oath in Felghana, and the I&II Collection.

Anyway, this is actually my first Ys, but I've always heard great things. I'm up to the part where Aisha joins, and it's been good hack-and-slash fun thus far. Anyone else pick it up?

I know Spamus has it, and he says it's really good.

Sadly, I haven't got around to picking it up yet, largely because I want the special edition. Still, I'm hoping to get it soon, because I love Ys.

Seems rare to see a Moderator make Thread topic that isn't about rules.

Well, I know nothing at all about this game, but this up coming Thursday I am getting this along with my new PSP.

The game looks like the kind that I can see myself spending hours of fun playing. Fast paced and challenging with grinding involved(?) is what I saw from this game. I dont mind grinding in a game as long as it is fast paced and not Lost Odyssey.

This is on the top of my; PSP games to buy" List.

Planning on getting it, but I wanted to play the other Ys games before. After finishing Ys I a few days ago though, I think I'll just skip the others...

Just got a PSP again. I saw some of the reviews, and Japanese sales numbers, and was thinking about picking it up myself. It doesn't look bad. I played the first games a while ago and didn't like them but I loved Ark of Napishtim for the PS2. How it is it?

I think the release of the limited edition of the game is lagging in Canada for some reason. It's the same game but has one of those big boxes, an art book, a cloth world map, and a soundtrack sampler. I got it simply because the only copies my Gamestop had were LEs.

MODS ARE PEOPLE TOO

It's basically like Zelda with RPG stats. It's an extremely fun series. There's no grinding unless you're bad at action/adventure games and need stats to support your bumbling-into-spikes.

I've never liked ys because of it's zelda-like gameplay.

Please don't do this. Ys I-V are not representative of the newer games at all; VI (The Ark of Napishtim) and the III remake (Oath in Felghana) have sword-swing buttons and play a lot closer to an action-heavy, fast-paced 2D Zelda. Seven is a completely different beast as well, since it's 3D and has party members.

Also, Ys I&II have had a million different versions. The upcoming PSP version looks decidedly better than the old TG-16 versions.

I haven't played Ys 7 yet, perhaps it will be the one to dethrone the NES Ys II.

I bought the limited edition. The game is absolutely amazing. Great music, fast paced battles, stunning visuals and epic boss fights. The story, in my opinion, is very similar to Symphonia. Adol, the 'chosen' has to awaken and gather the five 'dragons' to stop the Wind of Destruction from happening.

I'm about more than half way finished and I would give it a solid 9/10.

Symphonia's premise isn't exactly original.

I understand this, but it was the only game I could think of comparing it with for people who have yet to play Ys seven. I wasn't stating that Ys Sevens story is original, if that was your conclusion from my post.
