Which of the Fauves die in the game and are they sympathetic villains kinda like the God-Generals in Abyss?

They're actually more sympathetic that the God Generals, but their role in the story is different... And yeah they all die, thou I think in Wingull's case it was a bit unnecessary... Jiao had a pretty badass death though.

If it were possible maybe Presa survived. I mean, she could have used her water power to gush out a geyser from her book and use that like a rocket booster for a softer landing. Unless she wanted to die with some peace of mind knowing Alvin wil be all right.

Jiao aside, they could have all survived if we want to see it that way, but chances are slim and word of god confirms they're dead.

Doesn't stop personal headcanon from tweaking their fate a bit, huhuhu x3

I thought Presa and Agria's deaths were unnecessary myself. I mean, in Milla's route you just wake up and it's like, oh yeah, we ran into those two again but they died. Especially considering they died defending nothing and achieving nothing except emotionally scaring Alvin and Leia. It gets almost out of hand in X2 with Alvin, Leia and Gaius's character episodes... or so I thought.

Wingull had the type of personality where he would fight to the death even if it wasn't necessary, so I saw his death coming a mile away. Especially after the whole Booster discussion.

Do I sense someone trying to apply game physics to cutscenes...? Very Happy

Yeah, the way they died was a bit cheap, but Agria's death at least had a huge impact on Leia, especially as seen in X2.

Wingull dying, however, didn't really affect anyone in the main Xillia cast (and X2 didn't make it any more special to Gaius than the others'), so the point of his own death... doesn't really seem to have a point. Even if, like you said, he's the one whose death could be expected the most.

If they didn't die, then Namco *GASP* would have not use the alternate world and alternate Fauves as plot material (or Character Episode stories) for X2...

I actually think the deaths of Presa and Agria were very necessary, as they contributed to character development. Emotional scarring, yes, but also development.

I wasn't really 100% sure whether or not they died until Xillia 2...
I mean, is there any explanation about why they would appear in the arena?
As far as I know, this game has nothing to do with replication of living beings or anything Surprised

Really? I saw his death as affecting Rowen very much. I assumed he was the impetus for Rowen choosing to serve under Gaius at the end of the game, as opposed to just returning to retirement.

And in Gaius' case, while he sort of grouped the Fauve together, it was always Wingull who was the first to point out that our Gaius was not 'his' Arst. Although Gaius might not have given that much thought...

In the end, yeah, all of them 'achieved' something by their deaths. But I've seen so many 'good antagonists' die in rpgs, usually as some sort of repentance or stopgap measure, that I find it refreshing and very nice when they end up surviving. ^_^;

Rowen had already decided to get involved before they went to the final dungeon. I don't think Wingull dying impacted him much. Wingull's existence and interactions with him, definitely. But his death? Not so sure.

I have a lot of issues with Gaius's character episodes, so I'd change them as well. And the only (non CE) scene exclusive to Wingull... wasn't really about Wingull at all (and had its own set of problems).

So yeah, out of the four, I still think he's the one whose survival would have changed the least.
