Prove me wrong.
Name me one game with desert portions aren't annoying, painful to play, irritating, or otherwhise a slog on your play experience.
This isn't a "hey, let me refute your claims to prove my epeen size" thing.
I seriously can't think of a SINGLE desert level I've liked, and I'm asking the general populace of tales if there are ANY out there. _________________

Dunno is the Segram Desert in Ys Seven counts as a full level or not, but it wasn't really painful at all.
Otherwise, yeah deserts usually end up really boring. _________________

Pharaoh Man's level in Mega Man 4.
One of the best in the game, not to mention the music kicks ass.
Also, it has robot mummies that fling their heads at you. Good level. _________________

Wandering-the-desert levels suck a lot of the time, but levels with desert landscapes and such that aren't really "desert levels" tend to be great. _________________

They even suck in racing games. Though I can't be certain whether I hate the snow levels more than the desert ones.. _________________

I'm going to agree with this. I actually found the Segram Desert to be a bit fun to explore.
The first desert you explore in Golden Sun that made rampant use of Ivan's newly-acquired Reveal Psynergy was also pretty fun (imo). _________________

Desert levels don't suck when you compare them to underwater levels.

Red Dead Redemption's Nuevo Paraiso wasn't that bad. Tomb Raider Anniversary's Egypt level was pretty good. Shadow of the Colossus's ginormous flying colossus in the desert is my favorite. _________________

The Mario series is pretty good with desert stages.
And, of course, Shadow of the Colossus' desert was pretty amazing. _________________

I have to agree that at best, desert levels are bearable.
At worst they are... yeah.
It's the atmosphere for me. Something about the desert pisses me off. Which is why I hate world 2 in Mario games. |

Gerudo Valley, Gerudo Fortress, Haunted Wasteland, Desert Colossus, Spirit Temple.
That is all. |
