The Crimson Arms

Lucille placed a finger over her lips and looked curiously at the stranger who dealt with the man who apparently owned this place. Looking back and forth between the conversation, she saw a bag that held something inside.

Being the curious little elf that she is, she looked intently at the coins that the man brought out from the bag, displaying them openly.

"Indeed, this seems to be sufficient." She heard him say.

She wondered if those 'Gald' coins that the stranger gave to the man were actually food, so with no hesitation, she quickly took one of the coins from the man's hand and tried to eat it.

[Sapphie]

Fan watched with amusement as the girl naively took a coin from the barkeep's hands and tried to eat it. Fan figured that she must have had little to no contact with society all her life.

"Strange little one, is she not?" It was more a statement than a question as she addressed the barman.

"Aye, that she is," came his affirmative reply.

"Would it help if I took her off your hands?" Fan asked, genuinely intending to help ease the somewhat awkward situation that had arisen. She looked at the Elf again, noting that she acted somewhat like a child would. Feeling as if she had to make the first move, Fan opened her mouth to speak again.

"What's your name? You have one, right?"

The gald that she tried to bite into tasted metalic and it was hard, so she threw the coin away. "That was disgusting." She commented before she heard the curious older lady ask for her name.

She may have near to zero expirence with people, but she knew what that woman said though.

"Lucille Zephyr," She beamed happily. "I'm a elf~!" She added cheerfully, although everyone else could already tell what race she was.

"Really?" fan replied, playing along with her. "My father was an elf, actually." she continued, which drew her even more stares from the surrounding patrons.

"Oh really, you're half elf and half Gajuma?" the barkeep replied with a look of surprise. "That's really very unusual indeed."

"I suppose there's no hiding it now," came her reply and with that, she threw her cloak to the floor, revealing her magnificent tail to the people watching, "Yes indeed, I am quite unusual, I suppose. Anyway," she started, turning to Lucille, "Nice to meet you. I'm Fan Xiang. I suppose you could say I'm a ninja by trade, but I'm more like a mercenary really." This lie had been told so many times that it was second nature by now. No one in that room would have suspected anything she said, such was the effortlessness with which she spun the tale.

"...Mer..cen...ary? What's that? Do you go around asking people for mercy?" Lucille tried to repeat the name is little success, never hearing of such a thing before, she decided to ask this 'Fan' lady about it.

"Hahahaha, no, I fight bad people and monsters on behalf of other people who pay me in return." Fan replied, looking at Lucille. "You really don't know much about how humans live, do you?"

"Aye, I'd say that was an understatement, condiderin' she thinks Gald to be food," the barkeep interjected. "I'd wager she's from the South Forest, myself," he continued, "The elves there tend to keep to themselves, so it's no wonder she's so clueless."

"Now now," Fan admonished the bartender, "It's not nice to call people you barely know clueless."

"Hey, sounds like fun!" Lucille beamed when Fan finished her explaination on her role as an Mercenary.

When she heard the bartender call her clueless, she responded in a child-like manner: sticking her tonuge out at the man.

The corrupt merchant sat inside the tavern at the bar, gingerly sipping at his liquor, carefully eyeing around the tavern for any sign of assassins lurking about. Even though he had hired a mercenary to protect him, he wasn't going to rest easy just yet. He never placed his full trust in anybody. The last time he had done that, the Elven woman that he had trusted had told revealed to the world that her Half-Elven son also had his blood. It was because of her betrayal that he hated his son so much. Just thinking of the boy was enough to make his blood boil. Trying to get his mind off of Thorynn, Aeriria took another sip of liquor, and then his eyesight went haywire.

"What the hell?!?" He yelled as he stumbled to his feet, knocking into a bar stool next to him. "An assassin has blinded me!" He began to fumble around the bar. "An assassin has..." At that moment, Aeriria saw an image forming in his mind... There was the outline of a boy that had appeared first... The boy was glowing blue, and his figure was familiar... A second later, the image of his despicable Half-Elven child was clear in his mind. He also seemed to be seated on top of the shadow of a horse and near another person seated atop a horse. Judging by the outline, Aeriria assumed that this other person was a girl. "What's that bastard doing now? Has he found another reject like himself? Good riddance..." At that moment, Aeriria's sight returned, and he found that he had knocked his drink over and everybody was staring at him.

What's that damn boy up to? He thought. Is he trying to sabotage me? If I ever see him again, I swear, I'm going to make him pay for this...

OOC: Be glad I posted something, but I don't have time to post anything else. :/

Fan took a moment to take stock of the situation. Of course, there was the matter of her mark, whom her instincts told her was still nearby. But then, there was this elven child in front of her who was truly out of her depth. Though assassination was her trade, Fan was not a bad person at heart and had no intention of leaving the girl to fend for herself in the big human town.

Fan turned to the bartender and gave him a wink. "Don't worry, I'll take good care of the girl. Hit me up with a drink will you?" She paused at that for a moment before adding, "Some of your local whisky maybe, since I've heard good things about it?"

The bartender gave her a knowing look and replied. "Nest Whisky? Aye, I can do you some of that. Good stuff, it is, better than mainland whisky." With that he set about pouring Fan her drink. As he did so, Fan turned her attention back to Lucille. She didn't really know what to do with her, so she decided simply to ask her what her plans were, if indeed she had any.

"Lucille... What do you intend to do now?" She asked the young elf as the bartender handed her a drink. "This is your first time in a human city, correct?"

"Yup~" Lucille beamed before continuing, "Um, I saw you come off that big boat and was curious. So I entered this city to follow you." Lucille smiled.

Augla and I are leaving TSF. Unfortunately, as this RP never really got going, it is at this point, officially canceled, as neither of us have the impetus to rescue it at this stage after it has already been stagnating for several months. All that remains is to thank everybody that has taken part and we both wish you all the very best in the future. Take care and farewell.
