But of course!
I'm in chapter 20 now (about half way through, there are a total of 44 chapters, I think). The game itself has not really gotten any harder... actually, it's not a hard game at all if you listen to your party members and do the right thing when you get to bosses. Some of the regular battle can get really annoying, though, especially when the enemies are able to cast status effects on your party.
It's easy to level up in the coliseum and at enemy spawn points (those red circles on the ground in dungeons). If you want a challenge you can just avoid them, but I grind when ever I can since I'm just playing for the story. I'm sure even if you avoided them all together it wouldn't make much a difference though since most of this is strategy...
Any questions on gameplay/mechanics or if any one is stuck I'd be happy to help~
...also Yuris is a brat but he is awesome. Definitely my favorite character next to my drunkard Seiren right now. _________________ Currently playing; The Last Story & Tales of Graces F |

| Your last comment reminded me: How are the characters and character development overall? |

The character development is alright, it starts off rather slow (and we still haven't learned much about Jackal, Seiren, Trista, and Tasha at this point, but they were gone for a while). I think the fact that your party members talk to you constantly, even on the field, helps.
Yuris' and Manamia's pasts almost had me in tears, and I don't cry easily, so they must be doing some thing right if I'm getting this attached to these characters.
It's actually starting to get more into the characters now that the story has been set, so I'm sure it'll get better from chapter 20 on.
As for the characters themselves... I adore them all. I think this is one of those games where you really can't dislike one of your party members. I do hate Jill though. He's a jerk, and so is the Count of Ruli... _________________ Currently playing; The Last Story & Tales of Graces F |

Very, very inconsistent. You can see it in this thread, you can see it on gamefaqs, you can see it in other forums where people are playing TLS. Half the people think the game looks terrible, one of the worst looking games on Wii. Half the people think it looks great, one of the best looking games on Wii.
Personally I just think it's totally inconsistent thanks to having X360/PS3 level effects like HDR lighting or depth of field or HD quality water combined with the worst texture work known to man and PS1-level flat geometry. |
This so much. It's ridiculous how the graphics can go from breath-takingly beautiful to absolutely terrible in a few seconds.
Otherwise, I'm not very impressed. The game has some interesting mechanics, but other than that, it's pretty meh.
I'm not very far yet, but the game doesn't really make me want to play more. |

That's unfortunate. I was looking forward to this game for quite a while. :/ _________________ Gaming in 2013:

I disagree. Although Last Story sounds flawed and not as utterly incredible as expected, it still sounds plenty fun and unique, and I'd love to give it a whirl. _________________

I'm still going to get it.
It just sucks how I'm not as hyped for it as I once was. :/ |

Despite the graphics jumping back and forth and not being terribly good, I still love the game to death. I honestly think it's one of those where some one is going to either love it or hate it.
The game play IS really fun at first, but when you do get to harder bosses, the camera angles can be kind of an annoyance. _________________ Currently playing; The Last Story & Tales of Graces F |

Chapter 20 right now, 6 hours in.
Well, the first thing you'll notice are terrible visuals. Game has absolutely brilliant art-direction, ruined by low res textures, frame rate drops, clunky animation and blurriness of everything. Facial animation is a laugh, KH BBS has a better one. Seriously, on 46" LCD it is a pain to play.
That said, I like everything else about the game. I like character-centric story-heavy approach, fast battles, good script. I like how game is streamlined (a lot like FFXIII): you can see this in overall structure, clever use of narration, grind spot near bosses (brilliant idea). Cut-scenes tend to be too long, but usually they're interesting enough, so it's not much of an issues most o the time. So it's basically moving from one cut-scene to another, but such approach leaves little place to tedium.
After BD and LO I thought mistwalker were incapable of making really good games, but LS restored my faith.
All that's left is to start making games for PS3.
Also, so far it sold 135k copies in Japan.
Not awful, but could have been much better. |

Wait, what's wrong with LO? I mean besides being a dated PSOne game? _________________
