This isn't a "We need more mods" thread by the way.
Yeah!
So really I'm just wondering if anyone has status on a couple of moderators.
Lady hasn't posted for 7 months
Cyllya hasn't posted in over a year
and Illi hasn't posted since October (Which isn't that long ago, I realize)
Does anyone know what happened to them? I know Illi had stuff or something, but what about the other two?
I feel like at least Cyllya and Lady might have 100 PMs in their inbox from new members or people who don't realize that they aren't active.
It's also troubling to know that if Lunar gets hit by a bus there will be no active Administrators left here.

Lady was online a few days ago.
I don't think Lunar can really do anything about the inactive mods. The Namco people do all the modding/demodding iirc, and they don't pay attention to us. |

Then we'll fire him at the funeral and every...what's today...Tuesday, Tuesday he'll come back in the ghost of the bus that hit him to unleash his fury on the forum.
Anyway yes I do believe Lady was online not too long ago, as for Cyllya I honestly can't remember if she ever gave us a reason for the hiatus...

I doubt that because new members weren't even able to activate their accounts until a couple of weeks ago.
edit- also Lady always comes online a few times a week but she never does anything.

Well, I actually can. I'm not certain that I'm supposed to, but I'm not really sure what the harm would be in demodding someone. It's just that I'm entirely unable to add more mods to cover those slots without Namco Bandai's assistance since they need to file paperwork on anyone who moderates. I also don't think I can elevate existing mods to administrators without similar permission.
As for Lady, she's just not active in posting, which in itself indicates that she's not that interested anymore, I imagine. She does swing by at night sometimes and posts once in a blue moon, but I can't say that level of activity warrants moderator status anymore, much less administrator status. Nothing personal against her, but I can't help but feel she'd almost be relieved to not feel obligated to come by anymore. Maybe I'm wrong, and she might post to the contrary, but eh. Of course, I am somewhat glad to have at least one other backup administrator who appears on occasion even if she doesn't post.
Cyllya, on the other hand, just kind of vanished. I've seen her more recently on GameFAQs and other Tales boards, so I think she's just not interested in this community any longer, plus I know that she, like Lady, has a lot less time nowadays.
So yeah, it's something to think about.

With how much attention Tales pays to us, I hardly believe they'd notice if you modded or demodded anyone to be honest.

Well, of course, but it's still more a legal issue than anything. Even if they didn't notice, I'd be opening them up to liability by doing so.

I didn't realize that Lady still came by, my bad. Though she still doesn't do much good if she's not actually moderating through posting imo.
Maybe you could send an e-mail namco's way to see about making a current moderator an admin? I feel like they shouldn't have to do any paperwork for that because they've already agreed to make them a moderator in the first place.

Well, its not like the admins really do more than the mods anyways, right? I guess I don't really know the difference in powers. Can moderators ban people by themselves or can only admins?

It used to be that only administrators could, but we've modified it so that every moderator has the ability to suspend and ban accounts. What I don't think normal moderators can do (though I'm not entirely certain since it's been so long) is reorganize the forums themselves, which is what I did in preparation for the releases of Dawn and Vesperia. There're probably other things as well (maybe locking entire forums and whatnot?), but they're not really powers that I invoke anyway.
