Most forums limit a certain amount of pages on a board so the forum won't look so cluttered, even with old posts over a year old. Therefore we should establish some sort of archives page similar to off Neogaf to help secure the Tales boards (even though it's a bit peaceful.) and maintain structured balance. All in favor for an archives page say "Aye".

honestly you'd be better off just pruning pretty much every thread earlier than, say, 07

that's probaby what is (was?) causing the forum to collapse on itself

Thinger brings up an interesting point. Doesn't change the fact that the administrators can't change any of the coding. But a purge might be a decent idea.

Ah, purging. Deleting posts from the old days, but keeping post count. Good idea.

Why bother keeping post count? I'm pretty sure everyone but Abicion would be fine with it.

If he's number 2, then who's number 1?

You can easily search that information yourself. It's Rawrzilla, my lord and savior.

Naw I'm cool

...as long as they delete any inactive accounts with less than three actual posts in the past year while they're at it.

Well that's a dumb rule. How do you measure an account as active or inactive? Some people lurk you know.

You don't need an account to lurk. Use it or lose it bro.

really the # of people who lurk is prolly like 5-10% of those accounts, and it's not that much of a hassle to remake an account after a year

i don't see any problem with that personally, although it'd be a total pain in the ass to enforce without a forum plugin or something
