Let me guess, large enemy and spam it like Tidal Wave with a couple million Gald?
Anyway mine was 2500...something WITH a messed up controller that spasmed and jerked controlled character to the left and I never messed with the Risky Ring

Actually the Gold Cat arte maxes the number of hits with 1 million gald. By using that and having another character constantly hit it (preferably Judith with her "Run Forward" joke arte) I just sat and kept pressing the A button/ and moving the right analog stick. In retrospect I got a ton of grade but on the record screen it shows it ~5000 when I've gotten more than 20,000 in some battles. In addition my A button is slightly broken as sometimes it always stay pressed. |

I think you can sustain it even without another character as long as you use the appropriate skills and then do Tractor Beam -> Gold Cat -> Tractor Beam -> Gold Cat on a large enemy.
