The controls aren't hard at all. In battle, the only thing I have problems with is when I go to use an Arte that is mapped to Up+B, and sometimes my character will jump instead of using the Arte, but honestly that's probably a problem only with the timing of my fingers..

To my knowledge, 8 to a single played character.

Neutral, Up, Down, and Forward B, and also Up, Down, Left, and Right on the Wiimote D-pad.

12, actually. Neutral/down/up/forward + B, down/up/left/right on the D-pad, shake remote up and down, shake remote back and forth, shake nunchuck up and down, and shake nunchuck back and forth.

There's no Over Limit mode. You can do Mystic Artes through the Unison Bar, though. As for the clear data, you just get a collection of items at random. You might get manuscripts so you can raise your monsters' levels quickly, you might get herbs to boost your characters' stats, you might get some free gald. It depends.

Has anyone else noticed the slight pause between artes? Like, if I use one arte there will be a break before I can use another one.

I don't think the controls are bad, it doesn't take long to get used to them and it is comfortable in my opinion.

Well are you trying to connect two level 1 arts because that's usually what happens...then again i haven't played the game so i could be wrong.

I'm not saying they're bad, I was just wondering about that. That and the inability to run backwards kind of irk me, but I love the battle system other than that. I even get into battles just for the fun of it. The free run especially is great.

Wait, did none of you play TotA or ToV? You sound like you've never had free run before...
