Tales of Vesperia Difficulty?

Okay, out of curiosity I'm wondering which people are playing on. And if you switch between difficulties for battles such as normal battles on normal then boss battles and secret missions on hard? Also are you using healing (regen) items like Gels and life bottles?

I played on Normal first time through, I'll probably try for a harder difficulty next time around.

And yes, I use healing items Smile

I'm doing normal right now, and then will move on to Hard/Unknown mode the second time around.

Normal mode presents a nice challenge for the first playthrough. ^^ I'll try the higher difficulties next playthrough.

I tried Easy though just to see how it is and was surprised to see that you can't get any grade after battles but you can unlock the secret mission achievements (at least it worked with the first one).

It depends on my mood. If the monsters on normal bore me then I'll crank it up to hard, but I can hardly handle most of the bosses on hard so I switch it back to normal so its easier to grab the secret mission (don't want to worry about them on second play through). Just recently, I had it on normal throughout like a whole dungeon just to get used to Judy. =3

This game has fluctuating difficulty. I've been playing on Hard mode the entire time and the monsters are pretty easy. However, the bosses are a different story. But some bosses are rather easy.

But I'm playing with 2 other people so that's one less faulty AI ally; regardless of the strategy function.

Normal. I rarely go over that unless I'm trying to unlock particular titles.

I always scout in my first playthrough, which means I just go through the story. Normal mode.

The second time is where I get every single sidequest and item and stuff I can. I use a guide for this one, which is I why I have a scouting playthrough- guides have spoilers. Normal mode.

And then I do whatever the heck I want, which does include beating up crazy hard sidequest boss (Like the Nebilims) solo on harder stuffs. Hard, Very Hard, and sometimes Mania/Unknown.

That's generally how I play RPGs.
