This is dumb but you can not buy it and not miss out on anything.

As soon as they start offering 500 xbux for a bonus dungeon that's already on the disc then I have a problem. And I guarantee that they will do this.

I think it's just 'cause JP Namco released this at a bad time(?). Someone else said it somewhere else, but by seeing this without playing the actual game, people are given the idea that the game is "off balance" and it seem like they'd need to buy those DLC in order to progress the game. Which is not the case for Vesperia, but yeah.

Someone else's reasoning was that if this success, it set a bad example to other developers and they fear that this is gonna be the future of RPGs. While I understand the reasoning, doing the if scenarios here is a bit too early IMO. Like Namco said, this has never really be done before for an RPG, so they're really just testing the water here. Are people really that naive to think that? Nowhere has it been said that the DLC is required to finish the game.

The "best" one is the money though, since sometimes grinding for cash does get annoying and like I pointed out earlier if Vesperia has Abyss' early inflated prices it gets even more annoying.

Never, in my life, would I buy a level up. I prefer grinding, to be honest.

Also, where's Flynn?

Apparently so. Or according to some random people's "theories" on Kotaku's comment section, anyways.

Go to Neogaf and a few other forums. The internet loves baseless theories, and what's worse is that it feels like some people don't even have the best idea of how this series works compared to other RPGs.

I do agree that this "news" popped up at a bad time for English players.

Still don't get why people are trying to boycott the entire game instead of just the DLC. The former is a greater sign to the developer/publisher that their game doesn't sell, whether on that system or the game/series itself. It doesn't do as much to tell them that the idea of DLC like that is their main problem, and for all we know Namco or someone else will just do it with their next game, RPG or not.

Now if they notice their game is selling, but basically none of the DLC they've given out, wouldn't that be a greater sign that the game itself is fine, but the DLC wasn't a great idea?

Or maybe that's just me, but I don't see the point in skipping a good product for (optional) stuff that you're fully capable of showing you and many others don't want, without having to skip the game itself.

New dungeons as a DLC updated weekly would be sweeeeeet. Way to extend a game indefinitly Cool

I hope we can keep what we buy in a new game +. Probably not for the levels, but a new dungeon, I don't buy it each time. I want more info XD.

3 days left!!!!

I thought what they'd said (more specifically) was that DLC would always be things that were already in the game, not that they were obtainable in the game. I think that could mean that they'll add things that're already there that you can't normally get, like Estelle's costume from the beginning of the game. As far as we know, you can't get that costume even though it's programmed into the game. So, they could let you download a title that gives her that costume or something. Again, not sure on this, but I thought the wording was vague enough to still allow for something like that to be added.
