This is the official site, soo I should be able to get some information. Whats up with the news I hear about ToS coming to PS2. Is it just exclusive for a time on GC, just coming out in japan on PS2, orrr what?
The announcement of a PS2 version didn't help sales of the GC version any _________________

Tanner,
A lot of people were confused by that announcement. It was made in Japan for the Japanese market only -- but the gaming sites picked up the news here and only mentioned that there was a PS2 version announced ... without mentioning where.
I hope that explains this great mystery of the ages... "what's with the PS2 announcement?" _________________ Formerly NamcoTara, and before that, Sheena. |

| Well I'd pick it up for both systems if it came to that [I've got a PS2 and GC]. The more the merrier where I'm concerned. |

Its only on PS2 is Japan?! YES! I wanted it to stay only on GCN here so Nintendo's sales would shoot up and this game make player's choice!
Nice move Namco! _________________

I wonder if the quality would have degraded for the PS2. In any case even if the Powers that Be decide to release it here, they'll have to wait several months for Tales of Symphonia: Reloaded.*

| The quality might have been worsened in the PS2 port, (after all, it was developed for the GC in the first place) but they did say that the PS2 version was getting extras. *pouts* THAT would be the only reason why'd I want it to come to the US. |

I believe extras will be a new cinema scene, some new weapons, and a new dungeon. I don't think it'll be THAT much of an addition. It's not like they're going to add another 10 hours of story or something. _________________

| I'd like to see it come out for the ps2. Screw Nintendo, they deserve the bad sales they're getting right now. Besides, I only care about the tales series, and if ToS comes out on the ps2 here it stands to sell much better which will hopefully make Namco rethink it's general position on releasing Tales games here. |

The PS2 version is a major visual downgrade. The focal blur effects are gone, the actual cel shading is gone (they have the outlines, but the characters are unshaded), and the texture quality is waaaay down.
I'm sure it'll be fine if you have not other choice, but you're crazy not to get the GC version if you have the system availible to you. _________________
