|

Its kinda getting on my nerves >.<:::: At my Japanese class, not a week goes by without the constant chatter and idolizing of Inuyasha. Being the only guy in my class, I don't know if it makes a difference, but the show doesnt capture my intrest. And what also pisses me off is the fact that almost none of them have heard of the greats, (well IMHO) like Evangellion, Cowboy Bebop, and Full Metal Panic.
So why does Inuyasha capture peoples intrest so well to make them don catears and take big plastic swords to animecons. I'm getting sick of the swams of Kagomis at Seattles Sakura con, but back to the question, why is it so great, in your guyes opinion? |

Inuyasha is great, but I don't see any sense in idolizing it. _________________ "Taiyz: What the heck! You posted something! That's CRAZY. Downright INSANE, even." |

Well... one reason for the idolizing of Inuyasha might be because it is extremely popular in Japan, and the series is actually still going on. I like the anime you mentioned as well, but I also like Inuyasha. I just find the story and characters to be interesting (just like any other anime); hence I watch it. Simple as that. _________________

Because Rumiko Takahashi's work is incredible. Following her awesome line of work like Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku and of course, Urusei Yatsura! _________________

| I guess people just like the show a lot, it is/was popular in Japan and they even brought it over to the U.S although cut its still not that bad. Also they are even making a game for it comiing out fall - late winter. |

I have only recently watched the 5 latest episodes or so and I really like it. But since I am rather new to it, I'm not sure on how the story starts. XD
It's actually still going on? ^^;; _________________ Avy - Stella.. One of my characters XD

I believe the game is for the PS2 (for some reason Sony heavily sponsors Inuyasha in Japan). There are already Inuyasha video games... I believe there are a few on the PSX. They never got released over here though (since Inuyasha wasn't brought to America yet). _________________

Maybe because its the only anime that they've seen? I dunno what channels you can catch Inuyasha on, but I know that cartoon network's adult swim also has cowboy bebop, flcl, trigun, and others. Maybe its the fantasy element?
I wonder how any anime series can stay interesting past 100 episodes. _________________

Most anime that have hundreds of episodes are based on weekly manga. I think the animators do a good job of dragging out the twenty or so pages of manga into a twenty minute animation. _________________

I'm amazed that those people have never heard of Evangelion (or as I call it, the xenogears of anime) or cowboy bebop (my favorite anime, period.)
I do like inuyasha, though. It has great characters, interesting story, and nice animation. |
