I voted on who I would most likely try to make contact with without going insane on their crazy ideals. Meaning I would pick Asch because he was smart enough to know VAN IS INSANE & his ideals would NOT work.
& he was still loyal to his country.
I can respect that.
You know.... I always wondered about this. Ion said there were about 7 or 9 replicas made of the original Ion correct? Soo... exluding Sync, where were the others? dead? If so, Sync should've just been happy to be alive. He annoyed me. I was happy Ion was the way he was. His perception of his life was inspiring.

I believe the others were tossed into Mount Zaleho because they were failures. I can't remember if the game ever mentioned why Sync and Florian managed to escape this fate.
On your point about Sync, however, I must say that I disagree. There was no reason for Sync to be happy about being alive when he was alive in a world that didn't seem to want him.

Florian was replicated shortly after Ion died wasn't he?

No, Florian was replicated before Ion died. He's actually around the area when Ion dies, if I recall correctly.

I'm almost positive the game says that Sync was kept around because Van thought he could be of some use. I don't think it's even mentioned why Florian exists, but I speculate he was a "back-up Ion", so to speak, because the current Ion was rather frail.

Ion was the seventh and last one of Original Ion's replicas. Sync was 5th and Florian 6th. They were all thrown in Zaleho, but Sync and Florian escaped. The former was then taken in by Van while the latter was found by Mohs and kept in case Ion died. They were all created before Original Ion died (didn't he kill the first replica himself?).

I've found a site that supposedly has a lot of information only released in Japan translated which says this is true. The game never explicitly says what number Florian is, but based on that information, the fact Florian doesn't speak like the newer, programed models, and is still relatively intelligent/functional, I would say he's at least a year or two old. On that site they apparently have some sort of novelization that details the moment Van takes Sync in.

I'm definately jealous of Asch's title. I wanna be called "bloody". I have a twisted reason to why I want to be called "bloody" though which gives me the title of demented/crazy... Ha ha I'm never gonna be called what I want to be. Ah well.
But if I really had to choose a fvorite I'd have a hard time deciding between Legretta, Sync, and... Well Asch. No Sync vs. Asch... Aw who am I kidding Asch wi--no wait Sync is better be--no wait but Asch.. <--See what I mean?
