Formula: I might be exaggerating when I say Cadence is bad, but trust me when I say Bane is terrible. :') I wrote that thing when I was young and stupid(er). (I need to get commenting on your fanstory, too... I've been reading and enjoying it but I'm not quite caught up yet. )

Bloody Howling: Madeleine's a cute name, so of course I used it. <3

(Madeleine: And that's another reason why I'm a better heroine! My name's easier to spell on the first try than Elsynne's is!)

I was going through my documents the other day (finishing up sidequests, "if ToC was a game" extras and whatnot) and found an unfinished questionnaire, so you can probably expect that in the next few days (Roadie doesn't leave **** unfinished!)... A Raven and Lukas sidequest is also in the works, so that should be done fairly soon as well.

Until then, here's the unposted skit Raven mentioned earlier...


Skit: Joseph’s Whereabouts

Raven: (sigh)

Felix: What’s wrong, Raven? You’ve been kind of preoccupied since we left Estershore.

Raven: I’ve just been thinking… Joseph’s main base was in Estershore. I hope he got out okay.

Felix: O-Oh…

Ilia: You mean Joseph Vardoll? That old man’s still alive and kicking?

Raven: You knew him?

Ilia: Well, obviously.

Raven: How? He ran a mercenary operation.

Ilia: Ooh, sounds like there’s a lot about Joseph you don’t know.

Raven: What? What don’t I know about him!?

Ilia: Hehe, I’ll let him tell you himself.

Raven: I don’t even know if he made it out of Estershore in one piece! How can I ask him if he’s dead?!

Elsynne: …

Ilia: Let’s keep an eye out for him. What kind of places did he hang out in?

Raven: Usually the taverns.

Ilia: Then let’s go around to the taverns in Austror and see what we can find.

@Roadie: Haha. Bane isn't too bad; I found the thread and read probably about the first eleven or so chapters early today. Not bad so far. Although, I can definitely see the progression and overall improvement in writing style and characterization (and everything else, really) between Bane and Cadence, which is really a fun thing to see. Hopefully I can get Bane read within the next few days.

As for the skit.... ohohoho, that Ilia sure knows a lot about everything. Well, I guess that's to be expected when you're gods know how old. Nice little lead-in to the Joseph sidequest you mentioned a while ago.

By the way, totally off topic, but I love your Ghost Hunters set!


Also extremely off topic. *shot* About Tales of Concordia... Hah, I've been neglecting it lately (or at least I have been here). Got several other things done, and another chapter or two written... I can't even remember the last things I posted here. Hah.

Not to mention... Ugh, I really need to go through and fix up most of my old chapters. They pretty much suck. :') Included with that I have to pretty much rewrite several large passages due to some conflicts, and...yeah. I fail as a writer. Actually, I fail in general *shot again*

Formula: Yeah, it is interesting to see improvement and such since I started writing TotB (although I haven't gone back and looked through that thread in quite some time). And awesome, another Ghost Hunters fan! <3

It's all right, no rush. I'm almost caught up though, so hopefully I'll be able to post a comment to your story sometime in the near future... And nooo, I don't think you fail.

Ilia: Welcome back to yet another installment—and most likely our last—of our infamous questionnaire! Ohoh, it seems like the writer already went back on her “Let’s post weekly!” idea, too.

Raven: As unreliable as ever… What’s it been, like, a year?

Harriette: It’s only a few months, actually. And she’s only doing this so she has “nothing left unfinished”.

Skylar: Well, now’s definitely not the time for long faces. Let’s get started, shall we?

Ilia: Yes, good idea. Our first batch of questions comes from Fernard, and the first question is for all of us: “Out of all the collabs you’ve all been in with other Fan-Tales, who was your favorite character?”

Cymbeline: Oh, my…I wish I could remember…

Elsynne: D-Do we have to choose someone, just like that? I mean, I don’t like playing favorites…

Stephen: I liked the ones with-

Ilia: You don’t even have to say her name. We already know.

Stephen: W-What do you mean?

Ilia: Oh come on, those scandalous pictures of you two are all over the Fan Works forum!

Stephen: S-Scandalous…?

Ilia: Of course. <3 Oh, the things you’ve done…

Stephen: I…I…!

Skylar: Be careful. This is a T-rated forum, isn’t it?

Ilia: Ah, yeah…can’t get too explicit here.

Felix: Who was your favorite fanstory character, Raven?

Raven: No one.

Ilia: I doubt that.

Raven: Are you saying you’ve got some kind of blackmail for me, too? Because I-

Ilia: So, how’s she been lately, Raven? I heard you two work together pretty well.

Raven: …

Elsynne: Who? Who’s ‘she’?

Ilia: Oh come on, don’t you guys even bother to check the other threads? Or even our own, for that matter?

Elsynne: I’ve been really busy lately…!

Stephen: How could you be busy if our story isn’t even being updated anymore…?

Skylar: I saw the collab you’re talking about, Ilia. Raven and Mi-

Raven: Hey!

Stephen: This question went downhill pretty fast…

Harriette: I was never featured in a collab so I have no favorite characters. I’ve…never really left this thread, I suppose.

Felix: W-Well, getting back on topic… Let’s see, what fanstories did we do collabs with?

Ilia: One Heart, Castus, Darkness, and Eris.

Felix: In the Castus one I got to meet Cherie, and she was a lot of fun to talk to. She even let me try the circus stuff!

Raven: Remind me to convince her later to feed you to the lions.

Skylar: Anyone who hurt Raven is on my good list. Which would make…almost everyone we collabed with, right?

Ilia: Pretty much every time he was stuck with you or Stephen, too.

Raven: I hate collabs…

Cymbeline: I had a lot of fun with those!

Felix: You remember them?

Cymbeline: Yeah, kind of. I wish we were in more…

Ilia: Cadence has been whored out too much. No one wants to collab with us anymore… (sniff)

Raven: The story’s done and we’re old news. Time to move on to a new fanstory.

Madeleine: I bet TotI will have way cooler collabs!

Raven: Shut up! Get out of here! You’ll be lucky if anyone wants to do a collab with someone like you!

Elsynne: You know, this entire time no one really chose a favorite character…

Skylar: It’s hard to choose when you’ve met so many people.

Felix: I’ve had a lot of fun meeting characters from the other fanstories out there! Ooh, do you think the Bane Rangers count? Or the new characters from Tales of the Il-

Stephen: Shhh. Don’t lure those two back in here.

Felix: Ooh, right. Sorry ‘bout that.

Raven: And we—thankfully—haven’t done any collab work with them.

Ilia: But, knowing the writer, we’ll probably cameo in their story once or twice!

Raven: Damn it!

Skylar: I get a second chance at life, fufufu…

Harriette: It’ll be…interesting to see how we’re thrown in their convoluted little world…

Elsynne: Our next question from Fernard is for Ilia and myself: “Are you at all disappointed to have the least votes in the character poll?”

Ilia: Hey, what the hell kind of question is this?!

Raven: Elsynne had three votes last time I checked.

Skylar: And you currently have two, Ilia.

Raven: They’re probably just pity votes from people who randomly wandered in. Do you really think Cadence has 50 readers?

Ilia: I only have two votes?! I’m the most hated character in this story?

Felix: Don’t feel bad! Y’know, Christos had the least amount of votes in Tales of the Bane.

Ilia: That makes me feel even worse…

Raven: Heh, I still have the most votes.

Elsynne: I’m surprised I have any…

Felix: I think you’re likeable, Elsynne!

Ilia: B-Better than me, I guess… Damn, I was hoping my backstory might boost votes.

Felix: But the writer never posted it.

Ilia: Damn!

Skylar: And you basically have no chance of pulling ahead.

Ilia: Two heartbreaks in one day…I’m not sure how much more of this I can take.

Raven: Just get on with the damn questions. Stop whining.

Ilia: Fine, then. This next question is from Desmond, and it’s for you: “Why don’t you let yourself be hugged by Cymbeline? And don’t give me the stupid excuse of ‘Because I don’t want’. You don’t want me to think you swing the other way, do you?”

Raven: Just because I don’t want her to do that doesn’t mean I “swing that way”!

Skylar: Raven, what self-respecting man would deny Cymbeline anything, especially the hugs she gives? Honestly, I question your sanity.

Ilia: Well, there are rumors…

Raven: Rumors…?

Ilia: About you and Felix, of course. Or you and Stephen-

Raven: Oh, god. I think I’m going to be sick.

Elsynne: I haven’t heard any rumors like that.

Stephen: Neither have I… Ugh.

Ilia: Oh, the requests of the readers and the hidden files of the writer…

Raven: I don’t know. And I don’t want to know.

Cymbeline: Ooh, what kind of things? I want to see!

Raven: Rrrgh…all right, fine! Cymbeline!

Cymbeline: (hugs)

Skylar: Haha, look at how red his face is.

Felix: Poor Raven…

Ilia: Okay, the next batch of questions is from 0999Silv. Raven: “What is the name and technique of your sword fighting style?”

Raven: Oh wow, I finally have a normal question. Let’s see…my style is Austrorian-

Skylar: As if we couldn’t figure that out already.

Raven: Hey, shut up. This is my question.

Skylar: Just making commentary. Carry on, my liege.

Raven: Anyway, it’s a royal Austrorian style. It’s one of those “passed down by the family” things.

Ilia: You studied it with your brother, didn’t you?

Raven: Yeah. Lukas and I both know the same style.

Ilia: (But I think Lukas is better at it…)

Raven: I heard that. And I resent it.

Skylar: Your father used the same sword style, too. Must run in the family.

Raven: …I just said it was passed down by the royal family, you moron.

Skylar: Sorry. I’ve sort of learned how to tune out the sound of your voice.

Ilia: Okay, next question is for the girls in the group, and it’s a doozy. “What female clothing would you say Felix looks best in?”

Raven: Bwahahahaha-

Felix: Hey, I don’t like this question!

Skylar: Good thing it’s not for you, then.

Stephen: The readers like seeing us suffer, don’t they?

Elsynne: O-Oh, umm… I, I don’t…

Ilia: Probably whatever rags he wore in the beginning of the story.

Raven: Oh, god, I remember that… I thought he was a girl at first.

Cymbeline: I think he looks fine the way he is!

Felix: T-Thanks, Cymbeline.

Raven: Of course she sucks up to everyone like that...

Stephen: Nah, Cymbeline’s just nice.

Ilia: Unlike someone here… Multiple someones, actually.

Felix: Could we just move on to the next question if everyone’s answered?

Harriette: I never thought I’d see the day when something embarrassed you…

Ilia: The next question is for Stephen: “Has anyone tried to send you to a Psychiatric Hospital?”

Stephen: …What?

Raven: I used to think he was messed up enough for one.

Ilia: ‘Used to’?

Stephen: I guess everyone thinks I have a dry, shallow personality, d-don’t I?

Elsynne: Don’t talk that way, Stephen! I think your personality is just fine!

Stephen: No no, it’s no use trying to console me now.

Raven: Stop whining and get over yourself.

Felix: I think your character has changed since you appeared in the story, for what it’s worth!

Skylar: The public has spoken, Stephen.

Felix: Oh come on, it’s just a few people…right?

Ilia: It’s an old question anyway. The post date says it was submitted in January.

Stephen: Oh, lots of chapters have been posted since then.

Elsynne: That’s right!

Stephen: But ah, to answer the question…no, I’ve never been sent to a psychiatric hospital, Silv.

Ilia: Now that that’s settled, let’s move on. Raven: “You made it clear that Ilia’s the best cook in the group. What would you say is the best food she cooks?”

Raven: Huh, that’s a tough one… Well, I pretty much like everything she cooks. Especially if it has lots of meat in it.

Felix: Mmm, Ilia’s cooking is the best!

Ilia: Aww, thanks~

Elsynne: (I really need to improve my cooking…)

Ilia: I don’t always cook, though. Sometimes someone else does the work for me.

Skylar: Rarely, thank the gods.

Raven: I never cook. I never want to cook.

Skylar: Do you ever want to do anything besides whine and complain?

Raven: Yeah, I do! I want to kick your-

Harriette: Next question, please!

Skylar: Heheheh…

Ilia: Cymbeline, this last one from Silv is for you: “Aren’t you a little sad Stephen still denies he’s your father? While we’re at it, Stephen: Aren’t you ashamed of yourself for denying your daughter?”

Stephen: Because she’s not technically my daughter!

Harriette: It sort of works out, if you think about it.

Ilia: Ugh, black magic arts are so confusing. I don’t like thinking about it if I don’t have to.

Felix: I thought you knew a lot about the black magic arts, Ilia.

Ilia: I do, but that doesn’t mean I like them.

Raven: They’re pretty useless after the epilogue.

Cymbeline: Oh, I’m not sad that Stephen denies anything. He can say whatever he wants, ‘cause I know the truth~

Ilia: Oh hey, would that make his fake daughter Lily your sister?

Cymbeline: Ohh, it would! I’ve always wanted a sister! <3

Stephen: This is going downhill again awfully fast…

Harriette: Tales of Cadence skits usually do that.

Skylar: I’m so glad I asked Ophelia about Cymbeline’s DNA in that skit.

Raven: You love stirring up trouble, don’t you?

Skylar: Me? Stirring up trouble? Why, I wouldn’t dare consider it.

Raven: Bastard.

Ilia: Our final question is from wolfeyes, and it’s for all of us.

Harriette: Ugh, these group questions always start a huge argument…

Ilia: “Let’s say the world is about to end in ten minutes. You can prevent it at a price: you must sacrifice ONE party member to a thousand years of torture. Who would you pick? For simplicity’s sake you CANNOT sacrifice yourself.”

Elsynne: Wow…

Raven: That’s an easy one. I’d sacrifice Skylar.

Skylar: Well, what a coincidence! I’d sacrifice you, dearest nephew.

Felix: I…I’d sacrifice-

Skylar: Felix, remember that time we teamed up to stop Ilia and Raven from hurting Elsynne?

Felix: I-I…

Raven: Remember the time he was trying to kill us?!

Skylar: My ultimate plan didn’t involve Elsynne’s death, unlike someone’s…

Azure: Hahahaha Raven the failed hero!

Raven: Shut up, you! You can barge in on the Vivas, but get the hell out of the questionnaires!

Azure: Ohhh, so you admit you like me coming into the Vivas?

Raven: Ugh, no way!

Oh god, I just finished Bane. I loved it; it wasn't terrible at all, though I would have loved to see it revisited as a remake, or whatever. I loved the ending as well; I don't want to go in depth since it seems as if a couple people haven't read it yet, but the way it all ended...it left me speechless - in the good way, of course! [/Bane-related rambling]


I really liked this final questionnaire. Extremely amusing. I love the group dynamic, but they were right how everything seems to end up falling apart between Raven's attitude, Skylar's insults, and of course random cameos. XP Amazing as always.

Formula: Thanks for the Bane comments, I'm glad you liked it! I complain about the story a lot but it was pretty fun to work on.

Silv: I'm not sure if I could make a trailer, but I could work on a teaser if people are interested...maybe a Gummi, like the things Namco produces for pre-release Tales stuff? And the Gummi wouldn't be limited to Roadie!Fanstories, since the actual Tales Gummis include characters from every game in the series...all fanstories could be mentioned, or cameo'd or something like that, if the writers are okay with their fanstories being mentioned in the Gummi of course.

I actually like that idea, and I'd be interested in working on a Gummi to sort of "tease" TotI...but I don't feel comfortable mentioning too many fanstories without their writers' permission. So if any of the fellow fanstory writers here are okay with me mentioning their work--whether it's alive, on hiatus, gone, or not yet posted--let me know. (I won't be writing your characters or anything, don't worry. Just mentions and such.)

It's just an idea. 8D


Aaand so this post isn't just me rambling on:

The Tales of Cadence coliseum line-up! I won't be writing anything for it, but I thought I'd post the characters the party would fight in the coliseum, which would be located in Itona.

(I had Yoru's permission for Noah to 'appear' in TotB's coliseum line-up, but I never posted it so here he is...)

Raven tore his frustrated gaze away from the boy and looked back at the building before them. The freshly painted sign read ‘Chaldene Hot Springs Spa’.

“This is our last chance to relax for a while,” Elsynne insisted. “I think it would be nice if we stopped and took a break.”

“The rest of us will stop inside, at least...I don’t care what you decide to do,” Ilia said.

Raven planted himself on a bench outside, his arms folded tightly over his chest. “Then I’m staying right here, and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
