| I'm curious to see if the Tales of the Abyss 3D one is the same. I'm thinking of getting it but I wanted to know if it's exactly like the PS2 one. |

Yes, it's an exact port. There's a small difference but it doesn't matter.
The control are different (Obviously) and some sidequest can be done earlier. _________________

| Thank you very much! I'll still get it. I was just curious to see if there were any differences. |

Because the game is on flash media rather than a disc, the game loads much faster on 3DS than on PS2. This is a noteworthy improvement, as loading times in the PS2 version were dreadful. _________________ Gaming in 2013:

| I cannot argue against that. I agree that the loading times would take a very long time |

Actually, there is one MAJOR difference that leads to me refusing to buy the 3DS version: it is no longer multiplayer.
Other than that, there are negligible differences unless you are a typeface-nazi. *shrug* _________________

I'm really surprised they took out the multiplayer portion of it. |

| Resurrecting this thread not to roll my eyes at people asking for multiplayer, but rather, to ask how the controls got adapted to the smaller number of inputs available on the 3DS. Can someone give a rundown on the control scheme? |

It's mostly the same. The face buttons and circle pad do what they always did, the L trigger lets you free run, and the R trigger lets you swap targets (you can still either tap to cycle or hold to select with the pad). The various directions on the D-pad are for overlimits, cancelling allied item usage, swapping between semi-auto and manual, and changing configuration. Arte shortcuts appear on the touch screen. _________________

| Ah, okay. Using the D-pad and the touch screen to make up for the lack of buttons/additional stick makes sense. Thanks! |

Thanks for clearing that up.. I was curious a short while after what the control scheme would be like. |
