I dunno, I'd think Luke would beat the mother loving crap out of Senel in combat, but in personality, I could go either way with them. As for love interests...it's such a crying shame that the game wants to pair up Senel with...Shirley!!!

One's a marine the other's a rich dude, Luke may have done some amazing things but experience-wise Senel has him beat. The only way I see Luke winning is if he spams his Mystic Arte over and over (since Senny doesn't have one...unless RM gave him one).
To get back on topic though,

It didn't work out though, and Senel/Chloe wasn't really "killed off" just put aside after her CQ.

That much, I figured out, but the game still felt like they wanted to go for that Senel x Shirley thing. As for Chloe, I thought it was killed off by the end of her CQ.

It wasn't since Chloe never outright says that she's no longer crushing over Senel.
All she says is that she doesn't want to have Shirley has an enemy/rival and that despite everything that has happen she intends to always stay by Senel's side (which really could be taken various ways).

She was talking to only Norma at the time, if I remember correctly.

No, she was talking to Shirley. All Chloe will ever be is "another one of the gang" in Senel's eyes.

True, although I'm always reminded of the scene where he regains consciousness and proceeds to try to leave his home despite nearly reopening his injuries from the past night (something Shirley, I think, warns him about).
Basically I believe Chloe was something more then just "another of the gang", she helped him out too much as did he for them to just be simple friends or acquaintances the game hints that their relationship is no way that simple (best friends, potential lovers...it's hard to describe actually).
Add to that the only reason I see why Senel acts the way he does during the closing moment of C's CQ is because perhaps it's still too soon for him to be with someone else. Stella's death wasn't that long ago and if Symphonia showed us anything it's that some people can take a LONG time to heal from a loss.

I am obviously missing something here. O_o
Then again, I haven't played the game in months, though I still need to beat my Hard mode file.

I haven't played it in three or so years but Senel and Chloe were my two favorites from the game so I sort of have reserved memories about them (kind of like with Asch, Natalia, and Arietta in Abyss and Lloyd, Sheena, and Mithos in Symphonia).

I just strated the 2nd playthrough. I picked the formal costume. Moses wearing a shirt is really awkward. And, why is the guys costume are all the same while the girls have different style. I just got moses. Is jay costume different?

Not really. I also chose to have to Formal Costumes for my 2nd playthrough, and all the men wear the same type of clothes, and all the women wear the same type of clothes (though Chloe looks a heck of a lot smexier in her Formal). I'd rather choose Costume though, because at least you get variety in their clothing.

Wel, I got Jay. He was wearing shorts which is really cool actually. The animal costume may have interesting clothing but they look stupid wearing them. Hmm... But I love Jayy's kitty cat costume. Awww...
