So what do you guys think they'll do with the opening song? Do you think they'll go the Abyss route and get an instrumental? Dub the song? Put in some random instrumental like Destiny, Eternia, and Legendia?

I'm hoping they go the Abyss route, but if they dub the song well, I think I'd like that the best...

Also, anybody have a translation for the lyrics to this OP? I like it a lot, but it's driving me insane that I don't know what the lyrics mean. ;_;

Symphonia, Legendia and Abyss are all instruments, so I'm guessing this one will be instrumental as well. I'm okay with it, but I wouldn't mind if they left the Japanese song there. I prefer the Japanese opening (with Karma) than the English opening (guitar).

So far I'm thinking that there is either going to be an instrumental version like Abyss, or they may decide to dub it. The JP version sounds good but it may be changed like all the other Tales openings. I'm hoping for cool instrumental version though. ^_^

I wish I knew what the lyrics ment too. -_-

im hoping they keep the original song. id truly be shocked if they did.
but why is it that everyone is so amped for the instrumentals? i think some of them, symphonia in particular, sounded rather generic.

Hikari to Kane by Kana Uemura

* repeat

あなたの笑顔 強く輝かせるから

Translating songs (and poems, for that matter) = NO.

I'd be fine with an instrumental. I prefered the guitar'd version of Karma anyway.

I think that in game there's a part when an instrumental version plays, but I'm not too sure

We're talking about taking the original song in the Japanese version and removing the vocals.

It comes in the single, yes.

Sounds so very much different than the vocal though. You need some other instrument to lead the melody or else it's gonna be weird.

I'm actually thinking this might be the game where they finally keep the Japanese opening song. I'm sure I'm probably wrong but it seems like Namco is spending a lot more money on this game then they have on previous ones, and who knows, they may decide that this is the game where they keep the original song.

Probably not though....

If they were gonna do it I wouldn't be surprised if they saved it for a main entry in the series rather than a spinoff game.

I hope it's instrumental and guitar-like like Abyss. I would seriously be turned off by J-pop.

It'll probably be replaced by some instrumental song. I dont' think it'll be an instrumental version of Hikari to Kage though. The only reason Karma was, was because there's like 4 remixes of it (at least that's what I think).

I'm hoping for an instrumental of the song, since I really like Hikari to Kage. That'd be much better than some random orchestral piece.

If anything, wouldn't they be spending less? There's not exactly a lot of text and voices.
