Playable: Tear. I found her boring and unoriginal. And I could not get myself to care about her.
God General: Sync. LAAAAAAAAAAAAME.=P I'll never understand why he's so popular. Yeah his moves are cool and his design is nice, but as a character? No thanks. |

Sync is the same the whole way through, basically a mid-stage Luke =/. And who doesn't hate Mohs?
*puts up flame shield*
I don't really like Jade, since all he usually does it be a sarcastic ass the whole way through. But I guess it's for comedy. _________________

I'm fine with what you said, actually.
At least you gave a good reason for disliking him.
You will not get a flame from me.
Yet. _________________

You just gave me the thought of Mohs acting like Johnny Bravo in front of the mirror. _________________

Asch. His character was really bland and boring, it hardly brought anything new. His obnoxious attitude and poorly developed relationship with Natalia didn't help much either. _________________ Credit for avatar and signature goes to Bunnywisk!

Ingobert's a good man deep down, but I could never shake the feeling that he was a bit of a weak king, and that got on my nerves. Perhaps royal charisma skips a generation.
Anise Tatlin, for all of her cutesy humorous moments, is a perfect example of what happens when you train children as soldiers. Idiocy. |

Luke. I ABSOLUTELY DESPISED LUKE.
Whenever someone talks about how "Luke is the best of the Tales heroes, Luke has the best character development, Luke is the most believable, blah blah blah" I just want to throw up. I find none of those three things to be true.
Character development is great and all, but when you're never not annoyed by said character, their development is meaningless. -_-
I will be honest. I despised Luke all the way through the game. He went from being a jerk (and he wasn't even a cool jerk) to being a whiny baby to being a typical hero.
Luke's character development can be summed up this way:
"Master Van pwns all of you, you stupid idiots." -> "But-but-but-but Master Van made me do it!" -> "Asch, you're so much better than me because you're an original and I'm a replica, I'm going to go slit my wrists now because I'm so pathetic and I'm just a worthless replica." -> "Okay! Let's go save the world lol!"
I wonder if Luke ever realized that nobody would know that he was a replica unless he told them. Apparently not, because he kept on whining about how Asch was superior in every way because Asch was an original. |
Okay. I'm not going to ask you to like Luke, but honestly speaking, what exactly do you expect development to be? Because if Luke had "bad" development, then I have yet to see good development in any Tales protagonist (hell, any character in the series), period.
To me, his development is not so much about him "changing" throughout the game (though it did play a part) as it is him growing from a replica to a complete human being. It's not so much explicit as it is actually implied. For once, we actually see where his motivation to "save the world" comes from, rather than all the other heroes who seem to get this motivation from out of thin air.
Again, you can hate him and his personality all you want, I really don't care. _________________

Spoilers ahead.

Anise. She killed Ion. She killed Arietta. Two of my favorite characters was killed by her. She was a spy, betrayed the party. She's materialist. She puts herself above all else. If she was killed by Arietta, then maybe I could like the story of the game a little more. |
Edit: I like Luke, but it's too clear his development, the game forced it too much. Some examples of good development: Reid, "I'm going just because someone is forcing me", then "We're too far now, let's continue" and finaly "Protect those you love".
Senel, "Big brother", then "What the f*ck is going on?", then "I'll pretend I love her so I won't need to kill her", then "Big brother" again.
Colette, "I don't care to die if this is to help people" then "I want to help people, by staying alive".
There's much more, just lazy to list them. Luke's development was annoying, predicable, forced, etc ;/ |
