It's a cultural thing? I'm German, so I know Lorelei as the siren who brushes her hair, naked, by the Rhein. She lures sailors to their doom through the power of sexy. The deep voice Lorelei has in ToA isn't very seductive, IMO

well...since I was a fortune teller and I learn Qabballah, I found some origins of name inside of the game,,,
well,,,it appears that the towns name was derived from the ten sephiras on portae lucis or the sephiroth tree in Qaballah
ie Grand Chokmah is from Hokmah
Malkuth Empire from Malkuth
Chesedonia from Hesed
keterburg from Kether
well...as for anise, I found the theaterical music concert named Anise once in Basel Theatre and of course, this game was so related to music (look for the shop name,,,it all related to music, ie adante, maestoso)

That was the way I first got to know about the name.. I used to read a lot of german myths (my mom's german so I speak and read german) when I was smaller. Also, I just recently made up a female character named Lorelei... in addition, I was really wondering what Lorelei's character design would be like, so a flame ghost with a male voice was kind of a let-down for me in more ways than just one..
