An areana battle with part of the ToS cast would work some of their techs could b like this;
Round 1
Lloyd
Demon Fang
Sconic Thrust
Sword Rain: Alpha
Tempest
Tiger Blade
Beast
Demonic Tiger Blade
Rising Falcon*
Falcon Creast**
Genis
Rock Break(FoF eruption)
Explode
Thunder Blade(FoF Gravity)
Ground Dasher
Raging Mist
Absolute
Prism Sword
Meteor Storm
Indignation
Kratos
Demon Fang
Sconic Thrust
Light Spear Cannon
Lightning Blade
Eruption
Thunder Blade
Heal Wind
Judgement
Shining Bind**
Raine
First Aid
Heartless Circle
Heal
Cure
Sharpness
Barrier
Dispel
Ressurection
Photon
Holy Lance
Scared Shine**
Fairy Circle

*Must add moves
**Hi-ougis that all cameos need

After the fight the characters could get ToS characters costumes with which their 1st hi-ougi would b replaced by the character's and some random weapon changes like Zelos' Roses or Presea's Bunny in ToS and stance changes;

Luke; Zelos; Shining Bind; Last Fencer(yes I know it's already in this)

Tear; Colette; Holy Judgement; Angel's Halo(Eerie Noc. looks like Triple Ray Thrust, and Brandshing Sorrow as Item Thief)

Jade; Genis; Indignation Judgement; (no change)

Anise; Presea; Reppa Enshougeki(extends into Hien Messhoujin by using Beast as the ougi): Giga Cleaver and Auto Presea Doll effect

Guy; Lloyd; Falcon's Creast; Matrial Blades(Guy preforms all techs with both swords like this but the techs don't change except SR:A which becomes linkible)

Natalia; Raine; Scared Shine; (No change)

Asch; Kratos; Shining Bind; Flamberg[/b]

However this would mean..

- Creating 3D models of the characters in Abyss' unique non-chibi style..
- Texturing them..
- Animating them (I guess you could import the Symphonia animations..)
- Rehire the US voice actors to record PS2 Symphonia hiougi calls (unless they can just rename the techs and use an unused soundbyte)

And then implementing them into the arena. (Also, I HIGHLY doubt you can import animations from models of a completely different style.)

It's just WAY too much work. Also, American gamers need to move away from Tales of Symphonia. Legendia and Symphonia were bottom of the barrel, they had unique characteristics, sure, but they had only what the other needed and weren't exactly whole...Just because you got a game on GCN that's better than the rest on the console doesn't mean it's the best and most-loved in its series, so you can't expect constant recognition. Though, I have a feeling that for every new Tales game that comes out here, one of these topics will exist.

Heh. I really wish that many fans had a broader perception of the series outside of Symphonia. I understand that it was the first Tales game for many, but not every game should be "another Symphonia" nor should each new title pay some sort of homage to it. It is still a great game and an important part of the series, but the newer games (especially Abyss) really deserve most of the fanaticism that Tales of Symphonia is still getting.

Anyway, a Tales of Symphonia cameo would probably annoy me more than anything else. I like the cameo battle already in the game much more. Part of the reason I am so excited about Tales of the Abyss is that it is similar to Symphonia, but still fresh and different. I would rather not think about Symphonia while playing.

You've just said about everything that was on my mind as well. ;)

I think that list is WAY too big. Abyss cameos can't be solely based on ToS...;>_>

Eww. NO. Definately not a completely Symphonia cameo battle. Maybe another Cameo battle that had one symphonia character. Like, maybe Veigue, Colette, Norma, and someone else.

Besides, there's no way they'd have enough to add this in, anyway, since the game's due out in Fall.

Eh, the Sword Dancer and Nebilim are enough Tales of Symphonia references for me...

There's enough cameos from each game, except for ToL, for ToA -____-;;; I don't think we need to add anymore...>>;

I definitely agree. Symphonia is not the only Tales game out there. Other cameos for the win. Who are the cameos in this one, by the way?

I've played (in this order -- and yes I do know these aren't the only ones there are, but they are the only ones that I, as a non Japanese speaking North American have access to) Tales of Destiny, Eternia, Phantasia and Symphonia. So, while Legendia may truly be bottom of the barrel, in my mind, Symphonia is the best out of those four (Then Destiny, Eternia, Phantasia in that order, IMO). So, (I'm genuinely curious and not at all trying to start a flame war or anything like that) what is it that makes Symphonia "bottom of the barrel"?

The arena battle has Mint Adnade, Philia Phillis, Rid Hershel, and Nanaly Fletch...

ToR needs more love. They don't even get much as far as Tales of the World goes.

Eh, Tales of Rebirth hadn't even been out for a full month by the time the last Narikiri Dungeon game was released; I'm surprised Veigue and "Claire" even had an appearance at all. Eugene is confirmed in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology, though, so Tales of Rebirth will probably get some love before the end of the year...
