Well, I know when I got all those points for the "owl incident" (which is still bs, btw), Hero stopped counting them once I reached 20 points.
I don't know if that's how all the mods do it, but that's how he did it, I guess. >_> _________________

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that many people think the same when seeing one of your posts. |

You were far below the limit beforehand, though, I assume.
I'm interested in both cases where the user is far below the threshold (some incidents like flaming can rack up points quickly...), and in the case where they're only a few points shy of the threshold and gain a larger number of points. _________________

That's become a bit of an unwritten rule, and it's what we do. There's been a bit of a mixup with Kad and me and GD's points, which... explains why GD remains unbanned.
Well, that is, arguably it's actually the right thing for him not to be banned, but because of the whole thing, we're not too sure if he'd have been banned if we'd known about that rule beforehand. So, for the sake of fairness and as a sort of apology for the mix-up, we're staying on the safe side and not banning him.
Long story short is, yeah, we stop at 20 when points are earned in quick succession, we should probably make that clear. _________________

The only exception is when an instantly bannable offense is committed, like posting pornography or making a very real death threat. In those cases, it doesn't matter if you've been temp banned or even if you have no points. _________________

Lunar, a question, most of us know posting porn in the forum is an instant ban, but yet the rules don't mention a thing about it. Only instant ban offense mentioned is threatening bodily harm. So why isn't the posting porn instant ban mentioned in the rules especially when there have been bans due to it?
Though I admit in the cases of porn posting that led to bans, the mods likely can find 30 points worth of offenses anyhow, like Terowyn's porn spammage, and what led to RoL posting meatspin. So I'm not arguing that, I'm just saying that it could lead to problems in the future. _________________

We probably should add it. That was one of the things we felt was totally obvious and is clearly completely backed by Namco since this is a teen site, so it likely didn't occur to us when we wrote the rules given that we were mostly looking to attribute points to the things that actually required point values. _________________
