I thank you for taking the time out of your day to read about my personal issue, and appreciate the advice you've given me. I'm sure it took a lot of thought. However, I've already considered this possible course of action and had decided that it was not something possible for one of my personality, or at least not the best course of action for myself. Thanks anyway!
| Lunar Eclipse wrote: | | Well, with the way that I personally operate, I think it's okay to have arguments via PMs. It'd be absolutely hypocritical of us to enforce the exact same rules over PMs since we often say, "Take it to PMs" when people are arguing in a place where arguments don't really belong. However, certain rules do still apply. People still can't insult you in incredibly derogatory ways (i.e. racist name-calling or something to that effect), and they shouldn't be harrassing you by constantly PMing you even if you aren't replying. But in this case, it seems like you are replying, and it seems like you're keeping the situation rolling yourself. Unless something totally inappropriate that makes you feel uncomfortable is happening, then it's really not an issue in my book. If you do wish to report something, please remember that the same punishments will apply to you if your responses are inappropriate. |
Of course, I understand that. Hm, so things are generally OK in PMs as long as they aren't horribly off/bad? Thank you for your response, it was very helpful ^^ . Are you guys ever going to note that in the first post though (about PMs being different from the forum), or is it already considered a given? Just curious!
Thank you again,
<3 ali |

We've found that it's usually a given. It's not that you're allowed to use words and whatnot that normally aren't allowed on the forum. It's that you're allowed to broach topics via PM which you couldn't normally on the board simply because they're private. Arguments aren't allowed on the boards because they throw things off topic and pull other people in. In PMs, there aren't any of those associated problems. So, we'd obviously prefer people not argue, but if they're going to do so, PMs are the place. Just inform us if it evolves into harrassment (i.e. you start ignoring the person in question, but he or she just won't stop PMing you with rude remarks). _________________

Indeed it did, these situations are ever so rare.

Disappointing to hear, but the honesty is enjoyable.

Excuse me, I just want to be sure about one of the rules,
As long I don't use a fanart in my signature from another member just because I though it was great, I'm okay, right?
Meaning that my current signature is okay, right?
(This signature I made it by myself, but I have thinking about using another I saw) _________________

If you use fanart, you must ask for permission. If you don't get permission, you can't use it. _________________

Technically, though, fanart is an unlicensed use of a most-likely-copyrighted image. So if you really want to be official about it, you should get the expressed consent of the company that made whatever you want to use art from.
Needless to say, nobody does that. _________________

I have an inquiry as to point tallying as it relates to the temporary ban threshold:
Is there any consensus among moderators as to a limitation of point accumulation when it reaches the temporary ban threshold? In other words, do you in any way drop or hold back points when you see a user has gone over the temporary ban threshold, or will you assign points indiscriminately of the threshold, and to what extent? What about in the case of accumulation that crosses both the temporary and permanent ban threshold?
Is there any exception to the answer provided to the above question?
Please excuse me if this has been addressed elsewhere in this topic or the present section. _________________
