| ToA isn't announced for Europe, and probably won't be unless some company in Europe takes it. Namco doesn't have a European branch. |

The only Tales on a sony system that was ever released in Europe was Tales of Eternia and that only happened because of Ubisoft since Namco doesn't have a european branch. If there isn't another company who would release Tales-games in Europe there won't be any Tales for a sony system.
However I'm also from Europe as you can see and I tell you... Play the japanese versions. You can find an indirect translation for Tales of Destiny 2 (JP), direct translations for Tales of Rebirth and Tales of the Abyss and a story-summarizing guide for Tales of Legendia on the internet. Íf you understand English well enough you shouldn't have problems to play the games while using these.
Oh yeah and concerning the poll:
I can't decide on one particular Tales, every Tales has aspects that make me love it. I can only say that Tales of Destiny 2, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Rebirth and Tales of the Abyss are my favorites ^-^° |

If there's a NA and Japan version, why import the Japan one?
You get a better experience when you understand everything and it's way more fun when don't have to consult a guide for every single detail. |

I play the japanese versions because I prefer listening to the japanese seiyuus instead of listening to american voice actors. And I just love the japanese language... Furthermore the japanese version is the original version, the game how it's 'supposed to be' since I don't like certain adjustments in US-versions of RPGs...
I understand that others might want to play the NA-version of a Tales but that way you miss out on series' installments like you will most likely do with Tales of Destiny 2 and Tales of Rebirth. It's okay if you play TotA's NA-version if you are not that interested in the japanese seiyuus. |

I don't know you if you just like to write in a derogative way or if I'm really that stupid.
I thought of different meanings already, I just want to know which you personally intended... |

Most people here don't understand Japanese, so they'd be missing out on most of the game. _________________

So you meant it that way...
Well, with the translations and guides on the net you can enjoy the games, I think. And with some knowledge from anime-phrases and previously played games you can also understand the most content of the Skits (Spekio's files for ToR and TotA don't feature translations for them...).
Spekio's translations are great and don't say that you can't tell if you don't understand japanese. After many years of watching animes, listening to japenese music and playing japanese games you can confirm the rightness/correctness of a translation that someone publishes on the net. |

If I don't understand what someone is saying, then it doesn't matter how much emotion they're apparently putting into their words, it has no context, no meaning. That, and I'd have no idea what's going on story-wise. I certainly can't analyze deeper stories that way. Using a script printed off the internet would just cheapen the whole experience of the game, along with the fact that most translations I see on the internet translate the words, yet not the grammar, and the result turns out as engrish. Not to mention the high possibility of there being mistranslations.
I'll take good english VAs over good japanese ones any day-- I can at least tell if the english ones are good or not. |
