|
|
With Fuzzy's encouragement and request, I think it's best to start up an online forum petition to further help get more Tales games in the US. Since Abyss just released and Tempest in still deep in development, this is a good time to voice our thoughts and desires to bring ToA to the US.
While ToA already has a strong indication of coming stateside thanks to the ToL manual, let's make it so it's not just a strong indication, but a guarantee.
Show your support, post on this thread with the request to bring ToA. But don't simply type /sign. But indicate why you'd like to see this game here. Further, help make sure Tales of the Abyss, and all future Tales' make their way here with no voice cuts, edits, or otherwise. Let's get a product equal in quality, effort and time as the Japanese versions, if not, greater.
Every single signature, every single reason, and every single request counts. Make yours count. Request Tales of the Abyss to be brought stateside, uncut.
Of course, forum posts will help, but let's also show our interest in the game. Importers of Abyss, feel free to post non-spoiler screenshots, movies, and artwork. While we have one thread already dedicated to Abyss interest, let's have an official one for the expressed intent of bringing this game stateside.
To make an even greater effort. Nothing has more impact than the written word. Those truly dedicated, send a written letter to Namco Hometek themselves. Asking (politely) for Tales of the Abyss to be brought stateside, uncut. Nothing more, nothing less. The more letters sent, in combination with this petition will help increase the likelyhood of bringing Tales of the Abyss to the West.
You can snail mail Namco Hometek at this address:
Namco Hometek Inc.
4555 Great America Parkway, Suite 201
Santa Clara, CA 95054
Every post and every letter counts. Show your support for bringing Tales to the West! |

Localize Tales of the Abyss!
I love the tales games... now adays, they're almost one of the only two "names" of RPGs worth anything. Between failed concepts, bland stories, and just pure lack of caring, the Tales games are like Diamonds in the rough.
And no cuts! The Tales games are great games, and if they were given the full amount of attention they deserved, especially in the world today, they would undoubtedly exceed all expectations... Please!

| Signing. I'd also like Tales of the Abyss to be localized fully, no cuts. The Tales series is awesome, from Phantasia on the S. Famicom to Symphonia on the Gamecube. If Japan might be any indication, I'd say Tales can be a money maker if it is advertised as good as the Final Fantasy series. |

I've already played ToA, but I'd like to play it in English too. (I'm not fluent in Japanese.) I'd definately buy an English version of the game if it was done well... but, if it was a cheapy translation with a bunch of stuff cut out, I probably wouldn't bother. I've already read the script as translated by another fan. If the official translation can't top that, it'd be kind of pointless for me to buy. I'd especially like the translation to be good so my fellow fans who can't have the Japanese version can experience all the goodness of the game.

I would love to see Tales of the Abyss localized here in the US, since I'm not the best in the Japanese department and so I would have a better understanding of the story. Though, hopefully if they do localize it they keep all the contents of the game. Sidequests, Bosses, Voice Acting, I hope it's all there-kyuu. _________________

Having an English version of ToA will finally give me an excuse to play it despite already being very spoiled. XD

I've seen Tales of the Abyss. Voicing, clips, FoFs, gameplay footage, you name it. This game is a sucessor to Tales of Symphonia. I'm a huge fan already despite that I've never even played it. I think it is so good, that I bothered looking through pages and pages of translation to find out anything I can find possible.
I would also appreciated no cuts. Good voice actors, voiced skits, Hi Ougi cutins not left out, and much more. Basically, nothing cut out from the Japan version. With perfection, I believe this game will show those other RPGs who's #1 in the RPG world. I give Tales of the Abyss a 20 out of 10.

I'd LOVE to get Abyss here in the west, if only Namco would take notice and bring more games over here =( It seems like Nintendo's the only one motivating Namco to localize the games, yet most Tales games are on the PlayStation Sure, there's been some PS Tales released... but not a lot. _________________

I'd absolutely love to have Tales of the Abyss localized. It looks absolutely lovely, and what with the original Tales game finally hitting our shores in GBA form, I think it'd be a fitting tribute to Tales fans given the recent celebration of the series' ten year anniversary. I can assure you that we'd all buy it provided that the localization quality were up to the standards of Legendia (plus the allowance for completed voice acting for the first time in North American series history). So, yeah, please just know that every Tales fan is supporting the localization and hopes that you'll take enough care to keep on attracting new fans to the series! _________________

Hmm... does Abyss even need a petition? Destiny 2, Rebirth and Eternia could probably use it more than Abyss due to their 2D-ness. _________________

Though, Tales of Abyss would come here whether if they see this petition or not, I have a feeling it's coming over. I'd love to see Tales of Rebirth here, though~ _________________

I'd love to see the game localized. I'm an extreme fan of the game, and I haven't even played it. I'd rather not go through all the extra trouble of modifying my PS2 and getting a good translation. I'd kill to be able to play the game in English. I'd like to see it come over as close to it's original form as humanly possible.

Yes, bring Tales of the Abyss here!
It'd make no sense not to bring it out here, as it'll probably get mostly 9s and 10s from all the review sources. It'll probably sell as well as Symphonia did here, or better. It's also supposed to be the best Tales game yet, and the first one that gives you free 3d movement.
If TotA didn't come here, it'd bewilder me as to what the hell Namco is thinking with their localization patterns. Out of Tales of Rebirth, Tales of Legendia, and Tales of the Abyss, ToR and TotA are the most popular and best two Tales games, and ToL is one of the least popular and weakest. And ToL is the only one of the three we get?! Come on!
That's like bringing Final Fantasy Mystic Quest out in America instead of Final Fantasy 5! Don't be like Squaresoft! Don't be like Squaresoft.
Bring TotA here!!! *sign* |

Interesting character designs, an involved battle system, and, finally, a fully fleshed out set of Hi-Ougis makes me excited for Tales of the Abyss in a way that I haven't been for quite a while indeed. Sorry, Tales of Legendia, you don't give me the vibes Tales of the Abyss does. It'd be a crying shame to miss out on this game in English, and I'd buy it for sure. I don't even know a shred of the story, but Tear has become one of my favourite characters, and the game just looks excellent. I'm also a real fan of Sink, Arietta, and Regret.

I do hope this game is brought over; the media hype it would receive just from the praise it has gotten in Japan would ensure fan awareness. It's the kind of RPG I'd obsess over in the way I'm drooling over Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. _________________
