  • OPTIONAL: Colette names both dogs in town.

  • OPTIONAL: Look for a skit "To Fight the Strong." You will get a new Training Manual entry: "Battle Tips."

  • Very Important Note #1: See that lighthouse? IT'S A LIGHTHOUSE! Like most other lighthouses, it does not contain evil exp-rich monsters, secret treasures, or anything else that would attract world-saving adventurers. It's there so that the ships will be able to see where they're going in the dark! Don't try to get in it. Don't ask how to get in it. You can't get in, and there wouldn't be anything in there if you could. -_-

  • Very Important Note #2: No, the secret street merchant merchant's shop never opens. He has nothing to sell you. Don't ask about him either, but feel free to note his location for the Orienteering mini-game (later).

  • Leave the port, and there will be a scene. Go into the first shop across the bridge and you will hear they're sold out of Palma Potion. Go into the next store for a big scene. Talk to the shopkeeper, Cacau, to behold the ridiculous price of Palma Potion. You can buy it if you want, but you don't have to do that. Cacau will give you a suggestion.

  • OPTIONAL: Instead of buying the potion go to the school on the far side of town, find the cafeteria, and play the game. If you heard Cacau's suggestion, you will get a free Palma Potion. (It may require playing the game well, but I'm not sure.)

  • OPTIONAL: While you're here, participate in the test. It will effect Genis's affection depending on how well you do.

  • OPTIONAL: Wonderchef by the stairs in the school.

  • OPTIONAL: Normal Path only: Go to the other port (with the steam ship) for a scene.

  • However your method of getting the potion, go walk over to the nasty people to give it to them.

  • OPTIONAL: Talk to the guards outside the governor-general's building for an option to go training with Kratos. His affection goes up if you do it.

  • Go in the Governor-General's building, watch the scene.

  • Go to the church. Talk to Pastor Marche.

  • Leave town and follow the dirt path.

  • Enter the building on Hakonesia Peak and talk to Koton. Watch the scene outside.

  • Return to Palmacosta.

  • Talk to the priestess near the exit of Palmacosta. Tell her you'll take her part of the way to the peak. This will transport you to the House of Salvation. (If you're not lazy like me, feel free to walk. :3)

  • There will be a scene at the House of Salvation (or Hakonesia Peak if you went there first).
    • Affection:
      That's right. Colette +1, Genis +1, Raine +1, Kratos +1, Sheena +1
      The seals come first. Colette -1, Genis -1, Raine +2, Sheena -2
      (only affects Sheena if she's in your party)

  • OPTIONAL (recommended): Go into the House and talk to the priests. Say you'll go get the statue. Make a mental note. It's #22 in synopsis.

  • Go to Palmacosta if you need items or anything, then head to the Palmacosta Ranch. Follow the dirt trail going southeast of the House until after it disappears, and the ranch will be on your character's left.

  • Neil will stop you. You will decide whether or not to go to Palmacosta. You will do similar events either way, but it changes the order you do them in.
    • Affection:

      Return to Palmacosta. Colette +1, Raine +2, Kratos +2, Sheena -2
      (only affects Sheena if she's in your party)


To Palmacosta:
  • Return to Palmacosta. Skip to the next section ("Palmacosta (3)") for info on the Boss Fight.

  • Return to the ranch. Go up the path to the left side, and put 3341 into the machine. (If you forgot the number, it's on the Card Key's description in the item list.)


Stay and Attack:
  • Go up the right path. Mash up any Desians who look at you the wrong way.

  • You will be inside the ranch. Examine the ring changer.


Both:
  • Go to the right of the ring changer. Use the ring and examine the sparkle just above your character for a treasure. There's another sparkle to the right, near the guard. (Note the guards usually won't chase you if they're not looking in your direction as you come close.)

  • Use the ring, then examine the object in the upper-right corner of this platform. A bridge will form. Cross and do the same thing with the next object (after being introduced to more interesting magitechnology) for a bridge across to a sparkle with a Life Bottle.

  • Kill the guard by the refresher for Purple Card. There's also another sparkle with a treasure nearby. You can use the refresher to both heal for free and shop.

  • Turn off the two bridges you made the same way you turned them on.

  • Return to the room with the ring changer and go left. The guard standing here has a Memory Gem. Go down the hall, and when you get to a form in the path, go right for sparkles with an Orange Gel and a Life Bottle.

  • Return to the room with the ring changer. Use the ring and then use the teleport platform.

  • Go to the left for a scene and the Blue Card. Go back and go to the right of the save point.

  • You'll be in an area with invisible blocks, which you can see if you use the ring. Push a block into the spaces to make a bridge and get an Ex Gem. Use the ring and bridge mechanism to the right. Go across and down the stairs to the Red Card. Turn off the bridge mechanism as you go back.

  • You can go across the block bridge to get back to the refresher if you want.

  • When you're ready, go in the warp above the save point. You will be at the B at the bottom corner of this maze:

  • Whenever you use a warp, it takes you to the adjacent place in the adjacent room. For example, when you use the yellow warp in the room you're in now (lower right), you will be taken to the right side lower middle room. But the map wraps around both ways. If you use the red warp on the right, you will end up on the right side of the room you started in.

  • Quickest path to the boss is left, left, up, left, up, left.

  • Boss: Magnius

  • After the scene, leave the ranch and return to Palmacosta.

    • Suggested Strategy: You should definitely use Colette in this battle and have her use Angel Feathers as much as possible. Spark Volt is really damaging if you're not defending (normal X guard will do).


  • OPTIONAL: Talk to the new soldier out in the center of the city and play the Orienteering minigame.

  • Leave town when ready.

  • OPTIONAL(recommended): I told you before, but if you didn't do it, go talk to the priests in the House of Salvation about the statue. NOTE: Genis must know ice magic. Get him up to level 11 and have him in the party using magic, and he'll learn Icicle.

  • Go to Thoda Dock. It's south of the human ranch.

  • OPTIONAL: Have Colette name the two dogs (one at the dock, one at the island)

  • Go inside the dock, talk to the receptionist, and pay the 200 gald if she asks.

  • You will arrive at the dock. Go up the stairs to the right.

  • OPTIONAL(recommended): If you talked to the priests, there will be a scene about the geyser as you first approach and again as you go up the stairs. If Genis knows Icicle, you'll get a little mini-game. If you succeed (it's easy), everyone's affection goes up. If you fail, whoever's affection is already highest will go up, but not as much as if you'd succeeded and sometimes others like you less. But even if you fail, you'll get the Spiritua Statue.

  • Go around the sign on the lookout platform and examine the oracle stone.

Inside...

  • NOTE: The Poison Charm you got earlier in the game not only protects you from poison, but it also halves the damage taken from water-elemental attacks.

  • Go along the path and get the treasure. When you're at the bottom, you can go get the other two treasures, but ignore the ring changer for now. Go down and take the left downward path.

  • To the right of the shark enemy you see before you is a treasure behind the back column and a hard-to-see passage leading to treasure.

  • Go over to where the scale thing is. Use the ring (fire) to light the torches on either side of the scale.

  • Go back to where the ring changer was, use it, and take the RIGHT downward path this time. (Note your ring cannot stun enemies anymore.)

  • Follow the path (second shark has Memory Gem), and when you go into the next room, push the block back toward the door until you hear a click. (When it stops.)

  • Return to the room with the ring changer. Go down the left downward path. Shoot the water ring at the brown pot on the scale. The door on the lower level will come down, and if you didn't push the block in the way, your path will be blocked. (If you didn't do it right, you can start over by using the water ring to put out one of the torches.)

  • Return to the lower level and fill that scale's pot the same way.

  • Go back to the top area to use the warp. (If you couldn't see it, the broken memory circle is near the shark enemy in this room.) Make sure you're ready.

  • Boss: Adulocia
    • HP: 10000 / TP: 248
    • Item Drop: Mermaid's Tear / Steal: None
    • Strength: Water, Ice / Weakness: Lightning

    • Amphitra x2
    • HP: 2300 / TP: 120

    • Suggested Level: 12~15
    • Suggested Strategy: You're probably at least level 12 by now, which means Kratos can have Lightning. (If he's level 12+ but doesn't have it, use some of his other spells until it happens.) If you're the world's hugest Genis fan or something, I guess it's okay to use him, but I think Kratos is way more useful for this battle. When in U-attacks, use Tiger Blade, Lightning, and Angel Feathers.

      If you're somehow at level 18+, S-type Colette should know Paraball (use Pow Hammer 50 times, forget Pow Pow Hammer if necessary). If this is the case, you need no strategy. Just spam that skill.


  • After the scene, leave the cave. After the next scene, examine the washtub to go back to the dock.

  • Go to Hakonesia Peak.

HAKONESIA PEAK - ASGARD HOUSE OF SALVATION

  • OPTIONAL(recommended): If you got the staute, talk to Koton now.

  • Go up between the guards. You should have the Pass at this point (if not, you skipped something; go back up and look), so they'll let you through.

  • -Go north to the House of Salvation, then go west. The city of Asgard is a little hard to see.

  • OPTIONAL: Have Colette name the dog in the House of Salvation

  • OPTIONAL: Name the two dogs.

  • Go down the path and up the stairs to the stone dais. When Raine starts talking about its historical significance, you can move freely while she rambles. Walk around to the back of the dais.

  • After the scene, go right, to the other part of town. Go up the stairs and into the house to the right. After the scene, prepare for a boss battle and return to the dais.

  • Boss: Wind Master
    • HP: 10000 / TP: 220
    • Item Drop: Map of Balacruf, Talisman / Steal: None
    • Strength: Wind / Weakness: None
    • Gald: 800 / EXP: 1325
    • Suggested Level: 13~17
    • Suggested Strategy: I'd use Lloyd, Kratos, Colette, and Raine, since he doesn't have an elemental weakness. Make sure you defend against his attack where he spins forward. Make sure Kratos's wind spells are turned off (same with Genis if you decide to use him).

  • After the boss, go to Aisha's house again. Talk to Linar for clarification on the location of the next seal.

  • OPTIONAL: Go upstairs in Aisha's house and examine the phonograph for a Wonder Chef.

  • OPTIONAL: Normal path only: If you trained with Kratos in Palmacosta, you can train with him again by spending the night at the inn a second time. His affection will be raised.

  • OPTIONAL: If you haven't already been to Luin, now is a good time to go there. Follow the path north to get there. In the item shop, there is a smoking pig (?!) with a Wonder Chef.

  • This is on the peninsula to the east. Simply follow the dirt road to reach it. (On the peninsula, right after the road passes through a forest, you can find a treasure on the world map with a Strike Ring. I haven't mentioned the map treasures much before, but this one is handy.)

  • Get the treasure with gald, then go do what Raine told you.

  • Enter the ruins. (Memory Gem is the worm hidden on the stairs in the south west corner.)

  • The puzzle here is based on this concept: The tablets on the wall give you the solution, but it's too dark to read them. You can't light the torches because the wind is blowing. You can stop the wind by putting the blocks on the panels.

  • After you're done messing with the tablets, open the door in the back by lighting the torches. Go down below to use the ring changer. (New ring function doesn't stun enemies.)

  • If you haven't done the Light seal yet, there will be a scene as you enter the room.

  • The color of the pinwheels corresponds to the gemstones mentioned on the tablets. Just in case you know nothing of gemstones, I included the colors above. Just do the pinwheels in the order it lists.

  • The "holy seal" one (see above) is the one you need to do to get to the boss, but do the others first for treasure. Exit the room to reset the pinwheels.

  • When you do the "holy seal" order, the door will flicker and be unlocked, but it won't actually open until you go examine it.

  • You can leave the dungeon without the puzzle resetting.

  • Boss: Iapyx

    • Item Drop: / Steal:
    • Strength: / Weakness:
    • Gald: / EXP:
    • Suggested Level: 15~18
    • Suggested Strategy: I'd used Kratos, Colette, Genis, Raine. (Swap Kratos or Genis for Lloyd if you must.) Control a fighter to distract the monster while the others cast spells on it (not wind or lightning). Make sure you defend against Feather Shot and React Feather. Avoid jumping attacks (unless it's part of a skill) because you'll end up jumping into its feathers.


  • Avoid battles and cook something before you get to the exit. Unless you've already done the Tower of Mana, you'll fight another boss:

  • Boss: Resolute Assassin
    • HP: 4500 / TP: 164
    • Item Drop: Dark Bottle / Steal: None
    • Strength: None / Weakness: None

    • Guardian- Lightning
    • HP: 5500 / TP: 400
    • Drop: Fine Pellets, Magic Lens / Steal: None
    • Strength: None / Weakness: None

    • Gald: 700 / EXP: 550
    • Suggested Level: 15~18
    • Suggested Strategy: I'd recommend Colette, Lloyd, Kratos, and Raine. Gang up on the assassin first and the guardian.


  • If you're on the Normal Path and haven't already finished the Water Seal, go do that now. If you're on the Alternate Path and haven't already completed the Tower of Mana, got to Hima and find out where you left off in that quest.

  • After completing three seals, head to Luin.

LUIN

  • After you have completed THREE Seals, return to Luin. If you are on the normal path, you should have done Fire, Water, and Wind; if you are on the alternate path, you should have done Fire, Wind, and Light. Use the table of contents to find anything you might be missing.

  • If you've filled the requirements, Luin should be changed, and there will be a scene in front of the fountain.

  • The scene differs. I think it depends on whether or not Sheena's affection value is too low. Under normal situations:
    • Affection:
      Okay Colette +1, Sheena +1
      No Colette -1, Raine +2, Sheena -1

  • Either way, go to the ranch afterward.

  • OPTIONAL: Note that this is the last chance you have to do the second part of the Training with Kratos sidequest.

  • After the various scenes, you'll be in the ranch courtyard. You can talk to the Desians if you want. There's a treasure on the right, through the boxes.

  • Enter the building and go through the left door. There will be another scene.

  • Follow the path and get the two treasures.

  • Return to Luin. There's a scene.
    • Affection:
      Alright Colette +3, Genis +3, Raine +2, Kratos +1, Sheena +3
      No! Kratos +3, extra scene

  • OPTIONAL: Normal path only: If you trained with Kratos in Asgard, you can train with him again by speaking with the man near what used to be the weapon shop. His affection will go up.

  • Go to Hima.

  • Talk to Sophia (girl on the stairs in the inn)

  • Go up to the graves.

  • OPTIONAL: Find a Wonder Chef in a smoking thing in Hima's inn.

  • Return to Asgard Human Ranch.

  • Examine the very conspicuous rock.

  • Lloyd and two other characters will go to fight Kvar. Choose carefully, because once you confirm your choice, you can't switch. It will be easiest if you take Raine and Kratos.


    • AFFECTION
      Infiltration Team Character +1
      Deactivation Team Character -1 (Kratos -3)

  • The big thingy downward from you lets you refresh for free and shop. Either team can use it.

  • INFILTRATION TEAM: Go into the upper-left door. There are three treasures. Examine the computer on the left and tell it to shutdown.

  • Go back to the first room and use the lower-left door. Use the ring change machine and get on the conveyor belt. As it takes you upward, shoot the three closest glowy things to the left. Go to the other side and do the same thing. Shooting them may take a few tries but shouldn't be hard.



  • Once the conveyor belt has stopped, walk up the slanted conveyor belt. There's a chest with an EX Gem Lv2 to the right of the door that's hard to see.

  • The Memory Gem is with the soldier on the right left side of the conveyor belt room, in front of the treasure chest.

  • Act as if you were going to use the warp, and you'll go to the other group.

  • DEACTIVATION TEAM: Leave through the lower-right door. Go down (into the courtyard) and into the space where a Desian was blocking the path before.

  • There will be a block in your way. Push it all the way to the right. Move the one that was above it down and left. Move the one to the upper-right to the left and then down. Pull the last block down and left. Go in the door.

  • Go up and through the opening. Examine the plate on the floor, and the door will move.

  • Go left. There will be a battle against some normal enemies, followed by a scene.

  • Go left again. Examine the plate, and the door will move.

  • Go back to the right, and go down/south.

  • Go down a little more, and you will be in an intersection that lets you go left or right. Both ways take you to where you just were except on the other side of the door. Pick a direction, fight the pair of Raybits that attacks you, examine the plate, and go do the same on the other side.

  • INFILTRATION TEAM: If you want to save but didn't get the memory gem, you can just go back to the save point in the previous room.

  • Use the warp.

  • Boss: Kvar

    • HP: 10,000 / TP: 340
    • Item Drop: Holy Ring ; EX Gem Lv1 / Steal: None
    • Strength: Thunder / Weakness: None

    • Energy Stone x3
    • HP: 5500 / TP: 100
    • Drop: None / Steal: None
    • Strength: All Elements / Weakness: None

    • Gald: 3795 / EXP: 2580
    • Suggested Level: 9~11
    • Suggested Strategy: 16~20
      Kvar has two spells: Lightning and Spark Wave. His techs are Lightning Strike (he'll thrust foreward w/ his staff to send lightning toward you) and Guardian Shield (he'll toss his staff up and hurt stuff in a radius around him). All of those can be dodged, but use your guard tech if you have to get hit, but your stupid party members will probably get hit anyway. Equip your most important character will a Paralysis Charm so they will take only half damage from all the lightning that's being tossed around.


  • After the scene, you will be in Asgard

-Tower Key


  • Leave Asgard and head to the Tower of Mana.

  • View the scene in front of the inn. You'll get the Tower Key so you can enter the Tower of Mana. (If you're on the Alternate Path you won't get this scene, because you're supposed to get the key a different way. The directions are here.)

  • Head to the Tower of Mana (north of Luin).
