Now that E3's over and we got a good look at the DS, we can all agree that it sports some pretty innovative features. (If you haven't heard about the DS yet, read up on it here.) I just wanted to poll everyone on which feature did they think was the most creative, most interesting, most fun-looking, or whatever.
I know you may have more than one favorite, but I didn't include an option for "Everything!!!" because I have a feeling pretty much everyone will choose that. ^^0 So vote for which one you feel you like the best, and then explain in a post why.
I guess I'll go first. ^^0 I like the touchscreen idea a lot, because you can really interact specifically with the game. Just tap on the screen where you want your character to go and he'll go exactly there. Also there are more kinds of games you can make with a touchscreen feature, like PictoChat or the new WarioWare. I just find that cool.
Anyone else? |

I like the touchscreen, It is so cool, and it makes you feel like you are actually in the game! I would have also gone with the dual screen but I felt that the touchscreen was a bit cooler _________________

This is going to be great. Portable Wireless gaming...... I'm not sure how well the N-Gage is doing, but I'm certain Nintendo will do much better.
I rarely got to link up with anyone with any of my linkable GBA games, so I'm eagerly awaiting the DS for this feature. |

As someone else had mentioned earlier; we all would choose "EVERYTHING!" if we could... and that is no different from myself. That being said, I believe the WI FI might be one of the more... interesting aspects of the DS. Keep in mind... the WI FI connection brings a multitude of innovative ideas to the game. For example... using the WI FI connection may allow you to go into a chatroom-like area in which you choose whom you wish to play with; or just chat with other DS users. You can play/chat with anyone at anytime anywhere in the world... and I for one find that is quite an amazing leap for Nintendo. Also, if the multiplayer options are similar to that of the GBA; you might be able to play some multiplayer games even without the cartidge... which is yet another interesting option.
I can't wait to see exactly how the WI FI functionality will work... _________________

If I could I would have clicked on all the options on the poll But of course it's not the actually the specs of the machine that sell it, it's the games that will, and in that sector the DS has a lot going for it, well more than what some other handhelds could boast *coughPSPcough* |

Where is the "innovative ideas" selection? All those features are great, but the thing that has me hyped is that this is showing that Nintendo pushing forward with innovative designs and new ideas. _________________

Ah, sorry. I wanted to focus on just the NDS features for the poll.
If I put something like "innovative ideas" or "the great games they'll make for the NDS!!!!" people will feel inclined to choose those because they can't choose between the features (I know, I know, I like them ALL too). But there would be no point in a poll if everyone chooses the same thing. ^^0 |

I'd really like to see how the dual-screen could work. The Dreamcast had the VMU and GameCube had the GBA link. The problem is that I can only focus on one screen at a time and the other screen always gets neglected. _________________

I'd think that you don't use both screens equally. One screen would show the actual gameplay while the other shows reference information or menus. _________________

Hmm.. Tough one.
The two screens look really cool and give gaming an extra dimension.
But then again.. The touchscreen gives a totally different control over games than normal.
Both features look really nice, but since I have to chose, I go with the touchscreen, because it looks like a real new way of controlling games and that just awesome! _________________

Of course, I'd pick everything, too. XD But I eventually voted for Backwards Compatibility with GBA games. I LOVE a bunch of the games for the GBA...the Golden Sun series, Fire Emblem, etc...and it's nice to know that if my GBAs broke, I'd still have a system I could play them on. ^^ _________________

I guess it's a nice feature. The only Game Boy that ever broke down on me was one of my old, original GB's, but I got that one from my aunt. My other GB still works just fine and I actually threw it against the wall once because I was angry. I'm not worried about backward-compatiblity, since all my original consoles still work. Nintendo makes their consoles pretty solid. _________________
