ToD=Tales of destiny
ToP=Tales of Phantasia
ToS=Tales of symphonia

I like ToP better, it has a more tragic story line into it then Symphonia.

You think Phantasia has a more tragic story? How so?

I preferred Symphonia's myself. However, I've only played the SNES Dejapified Phantasia, so...

Mmm, I think ToP's is better, but I like ToS's more.... hmm....

This would be an easy question if ToP could just put the whole plot into the game. @_@

In the game? Double you tee eff?

The plot appeared to me to be very basic. Dhaos is "OMGWTFBBQ TEH BIG EVVIL VILLAAIN LOL" for the most part, then has a complete change of heart at the end. The entire game is about fighting Dhaos - a stupidly tall being nobody knows anything about, and still don't. The characters are one-dimensional.

Eh? Dhaos doesn't have a change of heart in the end. He started the whole thing to save his mother planet. The end is just that everybody realized what Dhaos's true intentions were.

I go for Phantasia...then Destiny, for some reason Symphonia keeps slipping down my ladder pretty soon Eternia may outdo it

Actually...one track in a Drama CD begs to differ(sadly it's the only track featuring Dhaos) he gave up at the end after realizing what he was doing and let Cless finish him off, I'm usre in the last episode of the OVA the battle will play out similar

Just another example of them not putting the whole plot in the game. :p The game does not remotely suggest any kind of "change of heart" whatsoever. (Nor does the sequel.) "After realizing what he was doing"? Okay, my respect/desire for ToP Dramas just dropped a notch. Not caring is one thing, not realizing is another. I was under the impression that Dhaos was desperate, not stupid. x_X

In order to get the whole thing, you need to play ToP, play another game, listen to at least one of the Drama CDs, and read a book. ToP itself gives you the game's plot from the point of view of one guy, who wasn't there while half the major events were happening. Normally, this would be an awsome method of storytelling, if all the pieces of the puzzle were more available to the people who wanted them. @_@ *is still dictionarying her way through the book*

My bad....I messed that part up Cyl, what i meant to say was this; he had everyone on the ropes save for Cless and during the duel with Cless he saw the desperation ofthe people who preformed the ritual suicide magic to send him to Aselia in the party and then Mint said something to Cless that Dhaos' lover said to him before she died, he said "I don't want to fight anymore" and let Cless finish him...

none of that stuff was in the game...what happened was that in order to save Derris-Kharlan, they had to send Dhaos to Aselia's past to gather mana, to do this a group of people and Dhaos' lover used suicidal magic to enable him to time-travel, before she died she said something like "No matter what happens I will always love you" in the Castle when Cless was fighting Dhaos, Mint said something similar and that made Dhaos remember what he was fightng for...then he realized what he was doing and let Cless finish him

Okay, that sounds better. ^__^

DeJap smudged a few story details, but they didn't mess with that. Like I said Tales of Phantasia itself is the story from one person's point of view, and that one person is Cless. Cless has never been on Derris-Kharlan; he doesn't know about the suicide or Kalion. So it's not in ToP.
