It's not related to Tales of Symphonia, other than the girls name and Flanior (but they have nothing to do with the characters none-the-less.) but I still thought this is best placed here. It's a Christmas Story that I handed in to my teacher in English today and well... I want you guys to read it! Comments too please ^_^ Enjoy.

THE WINTER CITY OF FLANIOR
By: BlueShock

It was Christmas Eve and everyone was busy. Car after car, noise after noise, people were moving in the lovely snowing city of Flanior. Everyone except a small little girl, who was homeless and almost has no family to turn to; she had managed to survive by selling some useful junk to people and usually made enough money to either buy a cheeseburger or a soft drink at Mc. Donald’s. Shivering, due to the cold, during blank silver night, she sat on a frosted bench in a near-by park. She attempted to sit down, but faltered and then slipped. The girl thought that not even the bench would accept her. She had a rough life. Her mother passed away in a car accident, her father ran off, and her other relatives are on the other side of the world. But, whenever she looked at the precious small jewel her mother gave her before she passed away, she felt a little better. She sneezed. The little girl wished she had someone or something to cuddle and feel safe and warm with. She did have a ‘home’ but it wasn’t a home that was to be called home. She only went there to sleep; even still, she had to sleep on the floor. She hated that, but it was better than sleeping in this iced chill. Before he died, a nice man came about once a week, gave her some food and a warm place to stay for the night. But soon after, he died from a heart attack. After hesitating at little, she sat on the bench, lost and despaired. She looked at all the wonderful coloured lights in the area. It was Christmas time of course, and it was almost time for the parents to tuck in their children and give them goodnight kisses for the big day tomorrow. But the poor little girl did not have that, and every time she thought about it, it only hurt her even deeper. She got up and walked, and kind of shuffled as if she didn’t know exactly where she was going. She looked up slowly and saw a small toy store. She looked up at the window and saw something. Something that made her eyes shine bright. A nice, fluffy Teddy Bear, with a teardrop on her left cheek sliding down. She quickly went into her pockets for some change. Eighty-seven cents. The little girl sighed, and went into the store. She went to the till and asked the clerk if she could see the Teddy Bear. The clerk gave her the Teddy Bear, and she hugged its soft, fresh belly. It was nice and warm. She looked at the store clerk, asking how much it was. When the clerk told her the price, her heart shattered into a million pieces. Thirty Dollars. She looked at the small jewel her mom gave to her. But, if she sold it, she could imagine that the very teddy bear she would have now, could be her mother. She asked the clerk if he would buy the pretty, bright jewel that lies in the palm of her hand. The clerk accepted and gave her thirty-five dollars. She was so happy, she bought the Teddy Bear, and hugged it with all the strength she had. The clerk asked her if she had a place to stay, and the girl responded with a slow No nod. So, the clerk asked the girl if she would like to come with him for Christmas dinner with his family. The girl’s eyes were bright and she thankfully accepted the offer. After closing up the store, she went with the man to his home. She ate until stuffed and then thanked them for their hospitality. The wife said she could stay in the spare bedroom for the night. With a small yawn, the girl said yes. And she went upstairs, and fell on the bed and went to sleep.

Christmas morning arrived and the little girl woke up with a shine. She went downstairs and saw a little gift on the dinner table with a small tree. The tag said “Colette”. She was so happy, she opened the gift and there it was, the jewel that she had sold to the man. She took it and attached it too her Teddy and vowed never to leave it, and hugged the Teddy Bear so tight, that she couldn’t let go. It was so soft and warm. Rest assured that everyone will have a wonderful Merry Christmas this year.
