...a good book.

Out of all the lovely people who've read it, did you like it?

I'm curious to see how many potter-heads actually liked this book, even with such an... awkward ending.

I didn't like it much. And it wasn't because of ships or anything dumb like that. It just seemed... I dunno. Forced, I guess. OOTP is still my favorite.

I will admit to bawling my eyes out the last half hour of the book, though.

Hm well since this topic's purpose is to see how many members like and dislike the book, I suppose it's different from the discussion topic. I'm not exactly sure if it's a valid enough reason to leave it open though.... If it's for a survey SomeGuy, I suppose I will leave it open. Unless another mod says so differently.

Undecided. I withhold my decision until book 7 comes out and we know what was really going on at the end.

It was my second favorite book, because I have been a fan of a certain someting since book two, and it happened in book 6

Actually, I preferred this book over the 4th and the 5th. Mostly because I felt like the plot was actually going somewhere. Even though that 'somewhere' turned out unfortunately cliched and predictable. Still an awesome read, even if it's not the perfection people have come to expect rather randomly out of Rowling - even though she's never ever given any indication/justification for her audience to set the bar that high.

JKR doesn't do predictable (maybe for small things but not for the overall plot of each book). Which is part of the reason I don't accept the ending at face value. (<plug> See my editorial that will hopefully be on mugglenet soon! </plug>)

Well, that's probably chopped up to personal opinion anyway. My point was that I guessed the basic ending. I'm not saying circumstances surrounding said ending weren't somewhat inconclusive and mysterious, but I still knew that end result - meaning I predicted it.

But no, she's not an overly predictable author. But all authors have their moments regardless.
