I know this must be a stupid question, but I just rented Tales of Destiny and I was just wondering what you do with food? You can put it in a sack, but a while later the food's gone. Could you at least humor me and please tell me what it's for? Any reply would be good. Thanks.

It restores health as you walk around. The Food System was later changed into the Cooking System which is used in Tales of Symphonia.

Oh, I see. Thanks very much. In Tales of Symphonia, when you cook, do the characters discuss about the food while they eat (Legaia 2, whenever someone made a recipe, they always discussed how they liked it)? Thanks.

No. It just goes straight to telling you how much HP/TP/etc you got from eating it.

ToD food system was kind of weird. It was just like ToP-SFC and ND1, except that ALL the food in the sack was gone in ONE step. Kinda convinient I guess, but that must take some kinda appatite. O_O

Hmm. I never played Legaia 2, so I don't know exactly what you mean. But I think its only something that pops up and says, "Lloyd successfully prepared Sandwich!" or "40% of your team's HP was recovered".

All the food in one step?!?! So if you filled it, and took a step, you wasted it all? o_O That's scary.

There was a second Legaia game? The first one was really fun ^.^ It said in Nintendo Power that at certain points in the game the group gets together for a meal and one person cooks and they comment on it...?

Yeah, Legaia 2 is a good game (I'm not sure if it's better than the first one) but in the game there is an option where you camp outside/in dungeons. It is used as a save point, resting, chatting, combining weapons, and cooking. In that game, every character learns their own recipes from their adventures and from books. When someone cooks a dish the whole party discusses how good it was or how bad it was (sometimes it's pretty funny). The dish could heal you and improve your stats, but some dishes bring your stats down low. It's an awesome game, but it's kind of hard to find. Maybe off of the internet or from a bargain bin. Thanks for your replies. I'll remember not to put all my food in the sack at one time.

Lol. I didn't figure out what the food was for until way later in the game (it's not like they explain it). ToP SFC had only the food system (as did ToD and Cyllya said ND1). ToP PSX (the remake) was the first game with the cooking system, and I think each game after that has it.

Well, it's your own fault for using more food than you need. :p

Actually, I think it will leave the left over food once you're healed, but I'm not sure. Either way, it heals you in one step.
