Dungeon: TOWER OF MANA

Code:
Monsters:                  Items/Treasure:     Misc:
-Specter                   -Armet Helm         -SKILL: Holy Song (Colette)**
-Living Sword              -Lunar Guard        -SKILL: Sacrifice (Colette)***
-Living Doll               -Moon Robe
-Grim Reaper               -Ex Gem Lv2 x2
-IUBARIS (E)               -Stinger Ring
-RESOLUTE ASSASSIN (E)*    -Boltzman Book
-GUARDIAN: LIGHTNING (E)*

*Only if you have not done the Wind Seal
**Only if this is your third seal
***Only if this is your fourth seal
CAP  Boss
(E)  Required Event

  • Examine the bookshelves for plot info and for the Boltzman Book (important).

  • You will first have a party with Lloyd and Colette. If you already have Sheena, you can pick a third person for their party.
    • Affection:
      Person you pick +1

  • The second monster on Lloyd and Colette's path (some tenticle thing) has the Memory Gem.

  • Get the treasure and enter the next room. Burn the curtain with your ring. Push the block into the center of the room so that it makes the light point to the round thing on the right.

  • Examine the thing in the next room. You will switch to your other party.

  • Go upward through the door. Move the curtain and push the block just like last time.

  • The next room is the same. Burn the curtain and light up all the orbs. Here's a diagram.

  • Continue through the door above you. Go right, then down. Up the stairs, and left.

  • Boss: Iubaris

    • HP: 16800 / TP: 1500
    • Item Drop: Brass / Steal: White Quartz
    • Strength: Fire, Light, Lightning / Weakness: Dark
    • Gald: 2500 / EXP: 2650
    • Suggested Level: 18~21
    • Suggested Strategy: I'd use Lloyd, Colette, Raine, and Kratos, but squeezing Sheena or even Genis in is okay too. The boss's basic attacks are to rear up and stomp, swing its tail, or to jump/charge forward. All of those are good at hitting all the characters around it. Make sure to guard because they'll knock you around a lot. It has the Photon spell, which you'll have to watch out for more than most bosses because it doesn't have voice. Use a guard tech as soon as you see him about to cast it.

It also has a tech where it rears up and shoots these funky shadow horses at you. You have enough warning to guard this (normal guard is fine). It has Force Ray, where it will fly up and shoot a beam. Just run under it to dodge.

For those of you who care about being "complete," note that stealing from this boss is your only sure way of getting a White Quartz.

  • If you haven't already, get the Boltzman Book by examining the bookshelves.

  • If you haven't already done Balacruf Mausoleum, there will be another boss fight on the way out....

  • Boss: Resolute Assassin
    • HP: 4500 / TP: 164
    • Item Drop: Dark Bottle / Steal: None
    • Strength: None / Weakness: None

    • Guardian- Lightning
    • HP: 5500 / TP: 400
    • Drop: Fine Pellets, Magic Lens / Steal: None
    • Strength: None / Weakness: None

    • Gald: 700 / EXP: 550
    • Suggested Level: 15~18
    • Suggested Strategy: If you beat Iubaris, this should be ridiculously easy.

  • Go to Lake Umacy which is near Asgard.

THODA GEYSER (2)

Code:
Monsters:            Items/Treasure:       Misc:
-Float Dragon*       [*]Aquamarine (E)     -SKILL: Summon: Water (Sheena) (E)
-Starfish                                  -SKILL: S.Seal: Water (Sheena) (E)
-Water Element
-Green Roper
-Octoslime
-UNDINE (E)

CAP  Boss
(E)  Event

  • Return to where you fought the seal boss.

  • Boss: Undine
    • HP: 13000 / TP: 320
    • Item Drop: Guardian Symbol / Steal: None
    • Strength: Water, Ice / Weakness: None
    • Gald: 765 / EXP: 2110
    • Suggested Level: 19~21
    • Suggested Strategy: I recommend using Sheena, Raine, and your two favorites of Lloyd/Kratos/Colette. Make sure Sheena is not equipped with the Card of Water. (If that's all you have, try using Red Quartz or Black Quartz on her regularly, or just have her stand back and spam Summon: Corrine.) Aqua Edge is hard to dodge, so try to use a guard tech. Spread is easy to dodge.

  • Just in case you totally ignored what the game tells you about it and you're confused, Sheena has to be in Over Limits to summon stuff besides Corrine.

LAKE UMACY (2)

Code:
Items/Treasure:           Misc:
-Unicorn Horn (E)         -SKILL: Resurrection (Raine)
                          -TITLE: Grand Healer (Raine)

[list][*]Once you have Undine, return to Lake Umacy.

HIMA (1) [Alternate Path]

Code:
Monsters:            Items/Treasure:               Misc:
                                                   -RECIPE: Meat Stew

  • Visit Hima for a scene with Sophia and Sheena.
    • Affection:That's right. Sheena +?
You've got to be kidding! Sheena -?

  • Go into the inn and talk to Sophia
    • Affection:
All right. Colette +?, Genis +?, Kratos +?, Sheena +?
Okay, but.... Genis +?, Kratos +?, Raine +?

  • OPTIONAL: Name the dogs.

  • OPTIONAL: Wonder Chef in inn room.

  • The quest given to you by Sophia leads into doing the Light Seal (Tower of Mana), but you can do either do that now or wait until after doing the Wind Seal (Asgard, Balacruf Mausoleum). If this is your first playthrough, you should do the Wind Seal first because it's easier.

  • If you want to do the Wind Seal, head to Asgard. Continue to this section of the walkthrough. You can just follow the dirt road, but here is an image to help you find it.

  • If you want to do the Light Seal now, head to the Tower of Mana (below).

GETTING THE KEY TO THE TOWER OF MANA [Alternate Path]

Code:

Monsters:            Items/Treasure:               Misc:
-Tower Key (E)                -RECIPE: Seafood Stew

  • You need to stop by the Tower of Mana long enough to learn that it's locked.

  • Now go to Luin, the city south of that.

  • Find the church (chapel), which is to the right of the item shop. Talk to the priest within, and he will give you info about the key.

  • OPTIONAL: Wonder Chef in the item shop (weird pig thing)

  • Follow the dirt road east and south to get to Asgard.

  • Talk to this priest:

If the priest isn't there, you skipped something above!

  • OPTIONAL: Name dogs.

  • Go east and cross the bridge. You will find the Balacruf Mausoleum.

  • Talk to Pastor Piccaring. He will give you the Tower Key.

  • You can now go to the Tower of Mana.

EFREET AND SYLPH (1)

Code:
Monsters:         Items/Treasure:          Misc:

-EFREET (E)       -Opal (E)                -SKILL: S.Seal: Fire (Sheena) (E)
-SEPHIE (E)       -Garnet (E)              -SKILL: Summon: Fire (Sheena) (E)
-YUTIS (E)                                 -SKILL: S.Seal: Wind (Sheena) (E)
-FAIRESS (E)                               -SKILL: Summon: Wind (Sheena) (E)

  • Efreet and Slyph are available after you get Undine. You can skip this section if you want. You will have to get Efreet and Sylph eventually, but you can get them now too. They are in Triet Ruins and Balacruf Mausoleum respectively.

  • I would recommend getting Efreet now but waiting on Sylph if they're too hard. Sylph is not useful enough to warrent oodles of level-ups.

  • Boss: Efreet
    • HP: 18000/ TP: 850
    • Item Drop: Attack Symbol / Steal: None
    • Strength: Fire / Weakness: None
    • Gald: 945 / EXP: 2430
    • Suggested Level: 22+
    • Suggested Strategy: Remember that there are some items (Lid Sheild, Kitchen Mitten) that reduce Fire damage. Raine is good for healing, but have her use Life Bottles instead of Resurrection. Use your guard tech against Eruption (or dodge).

    Boss: Sephie
    • HP: 7320 / TP: 220
    • Item Drop: Savory / Steal: None
    • Strength: Wind / Weakness: None

    • Yutis
    • HP: 6480 / TP: 80
    • Drop: Sage / Steal: None
    • Strength: Wind / Weakness: None

    • Fairess
    • HP: 6190 / TP: 250
    • Drop: Saffron / Steal: None
    • Strength: Wind / Weakness: None

    • Gald: 895 / EXP: 2340
    • Suggested Level: 22+
    • Suggested Strategy: Don't use a mage besides Raine because they're good at stopping spells. Set all the party members to "Attack Same" so you can gang up on one of them at a time. Take Yutis out first to keep Raine safe.

HIMA (3)

  • Once you have the Unicorn Horn, return to Hima. (Don't be one of those people who think the little scene when you first go into town means you're not allowed in the town.)

  • Go upstairs in the inn for a scene.

  • OPTIONAL: Now is your last chance to clear up a lot of optional stuff. For example, if you wanted to fight the Sword Dancer in the Ossa Trail cave, do it NOW. If you want two more summons for Sheena, they are described above.

  • When you're ready, go up the path to the top of the mountain.

  • AFFECTION
    • Whoever you talk to first +1

  • OPTIONAL: Normal path only: If you trained with Kratos in Luin, then you can train with him again by speaking with him twice. His affection will be raised.

  • After the scenes, go to the top of the mountain again.

TOWER OF SALVATION (1)

Code:
Monsters:             Items/Treasure:    Misc:
-SPOILER BOSS 1 (E)   (none)             SKILL: Judgment (Colette) (E)
-SPOILER BOSS 2 (E)
-YGGDRASILL (E)

  • You just need to walk in, view a bunch of scenes, and fight a bunch of bosses. (Be prepared to have Lloyd/Raine/Genis/Sheena be your fighting party against these bosses.)

  • Boss: Remiel (Spoiler 1)
    • HP: 16000/ TP: 258
    • Item Drop: EX Gem Lv1 / Steal: None
    • Strength: Light / Weakness: None
    • Gald: 1840 / EXP: 2795
    • Suggested Level: 20~22
    • Suggested Strategy: The boss's basic attack is a bow/arrow, which you should block with normal guard. If he's about to cast Photon, use your guard tech immediately; don't wait to see who he's aiming at. Dodge Holy Lance. Judgment Ray is best countered with a Life Bottle. ^_^; Don't forget that a Stun Charm will protect you against Light. Make sure Raine doesn't cast Photon.

  • Boss:Kratos (Spoiler 2)

    • HP: 22500 / TP: 1500
    • Item Drop: EX Gem Lv3, Life Bottle / Steal: None
    • Strength: Light / Weakness: None
    • Gald: 2900 / EXP: 3280
    • Suggested Level: 23+
    • Suggested Strategy: You don't have to beat him, but it's possible. Use a Paralyze Charm to reduce lightning damage and make sure you dodge Grave.

  • Boss: Yggdrasill
    • HP: 40000 / TP: 3000
    • Item Drop: None / Steal: None
    • Strength: Light / Weakness: Weakness
    • Gald: None / EXP: None
    • Suggested Level: n/a
    • Suggested Strategy: You can't win this battle. If you deal a certain amount of damage or take a certain amount of time, the battle will end without winning or losing, so you can do that if you don't feel like losing.

SYLVARANT BASE (2)

Code:
Monsters:        Items/Treasure:
-Footsoldier     -Straw Hat
-Evil Warrior    -EX Gem Lv2
                 -Protect Ring

  • After more scenes, you will be in the hallway. Go right and up.

  • There's a vending machine where you can buy stuff.

  • Examine the ring change machine. Go up the stairs and down into the other section of the room.

  • Move the brown and gray blocks so that they form a bridge to the gray block. Push the gray block down.

  • While you still have all three block available, you can use them to form a bridge to the treasure chests on the right. (The treasures are Straw Hat and EX Gem Lv2.)

  • When you're done with that, push the gray block onto the blue tile.

  • Push the brown and gray blocks back into the pink-edged so that they are vertical of each other.

  • Go down the stairs opened by the gray block.

  • In the upper-left corner, there is a thing you must hit with the electrical Sorcerer's Ring. Then examine the computer(?) on the left wall. The platform from above will come down. If you placed the block right, they will form a bridge. If you messed up, you can make the computer take the platform back up.

  • Cross over with the blocks and use your ring on the electric column in the front of the platform. Use the computer to drain the water.

  • Note the hard-to-see stairs and the hard-to-see chest (Protect Ring). Push the gray block into the water and go down the hard-to-see stairs to push it onto the blue tile. After the wall lowers, shoot the electric column and the door at the south end of the room will unlock.

  • Through the door, there will be a scene. When it's over, go left. Take the upward path in the middle of the next hallway.

-Hare              -Cool Orbit
-Night Raid        -Card of Fire
-Black Bat         -Black Onyx
                   -Misty Robe

  • The Black Onyx is hidden behind this rock. The rest of the path is self-explanatory.

MELTOKIO (1)

Code:
Items/Treasure:               Misc:
-Sheena's Letter (E)          [*]RECIPE: Fruit Cocktail
                              [*]RECIPE: Steak

  • There will be a scene. Walk farther in, and there will be another scene. Go up the stairs, and there will be a better scene. When Zelos leaves, continue in a straight line until you get to another short scene with the guards in front of the castle.

  • Go into the church (building on the left). Talk to the priest in the center isle. Go back outside and, after another scene, follow Presea up to where she's waiting with the guards.

  • Once inside the castle, go either left or right, and go up the stairs until you're on the third story and go through the door. Try to go in the door with a guard by it.
    • AFFECTION:
      All right. That's fine. : Colette +2, Genis -2, Raine +2, Presea -1, Zelos +3
      No, we can't do that. : Colette +1, Genis +1, Raine -2, Presea +2, Zelos -2

  • Scene. When it's all over, go back to the church and talk to Zelos.

  • Now's a good time to look around, buy stuff, etc.

  • OPTIONAL: Go to Zelos's house (right from the castle, second building) and find the peculiar-looking gift box for a Wonder Chef.

  • Leave the town and go east.

TETHE'ALLA BRIDGE (1)
  • Scene.

  • Walk.

  • OPTIONAL: Play the mini-game with the Katz.

  • Sybak is along the north coast.

SYBAK (1)
Code:
Items/Treasure:                 Misc:
-Colette's Necklace (E)         -TITLE: Ill-Fated Girl (Colette) (E)
-Tethe'alla Map (E)             -RECIPE: Fried Rice

  • Go to the university, the big building on the leftmost side of town. There will be a scene. When it's over, leave the room and go to the right to get back to where you were.

  • (If you want to stock up on food in the university cafeteria, do it now.)

  • Now you need to find a Key Crest. (Don't be one of those people who can't figure out why you can't leave town.) Talk to this guy in the town plaza.

  • Go back to the university, talk to the man outside, and go into the room you were in before (second door on the right). Follow everyone else back to the entrance. After all the scenes, take the basement door outside and leave town when you're ready. I recommend buying new equipment at the booth in the plaza if you haven't updated everything recently (i.e. in Meltokio).

  • OPTIONAL: The conspicuous magazine rack in the library (not the university) has a Wonder Chef.

TETHE'ALLA BRIDGE (2)
Code:
Monsters:
-Cardinal Knight

  • Walk.

  • Scene.

  • Fight. It's easy.

Dungeon: FOOJI MOUNTAINS (2)

Code:
Monsters:
-(See Previous)
-Zombie
-Demon
-Chimera
-Ghost
-Slime
-PRONYMA (E)

CAP   Boss
(E)   Event

  • One of the guards in front of Meltokio will sell you items if you need it.

  • Go back to the top of Fooji Mountain. There are some different monsters here now, but they're all easy. (Still, some are strong against Physical, so you might want to equip something like an Aquamarine)

  • Boss: Pronyma

    • HP: 18000 / TP: 750
    • Item Drop: Rosemary, EX Gem Lv2 / Steal: None
    • Strength: Dark / Weakness: Light
    • Gald: 1500 / EXP: 3000
    • Suggested Level: 23~26
    • Suggested Strategy: This boss can be hard for some people because you don't have much opportunity to go back and make preparations. Here are her skills you should be cautioned against:
Leonazium - Guard or back step away
Agarazium - Move out of the circle
Dark Sphere ("Take this!") - Use guard skill right away
Bloody Lance ("Ready?") - Run out of the way (guard skill if you can't)
Acid Rain - Counter with Anti-Magic Bottle, Raine's Dispel/Barrier/Field Barrier
Ice Tornado - Run out the way if you can (already need to be running when she casts it) or use guard skill.
Aqua Laser - You can dodge it if you jump over her at just the right time. Otherwise try using a guard tech
Distinguish what she's about to do based on the colored circle beneath her. Since Dark Sphere and Bloody Lance (and Acid Rain) are all Dark-elemental, distinguish them by her voice acting.

Raine and Colette are very useful for this battle because they have Light spells. You might want to equip an Aquamarine or Poison Charm so that you take less damage from Aqua Laser.

  • Head to Meltokio~

Dungeon: MELTOKIO SEWERS

Code:
Monsters:              Items/Treasure:
-Sewer Rat (small)     -EX Gem Lv2
-Sewer Rat (big)       -EX Gem Lv3
-Violent Viper         -Spirit Ring
-Fake                  -Great Ax
-Giant Leech           -Breastplate
-Jellyfish             -EX Gem Lv1
-Convict (E)           -2500 Gald
                       -Thunderbolt
                       -Card of Lightning
                       -Elixer (Fake)

  • Use the ring change machine when you find it. Use the ring and go to the left corner for a path leading to a Mouse whole with an EX Gem Lv2. Then backtrack to the spider web. Once across, use the tile and go up the stairs.

  • Follow the path along for a quick explanatory scene and find the trash compactor. Examine the levers on the trash compactor to make a trash block. (To the left of the trash compactor is a mouse hole with a Great Ax.)

  • Important note about the trash compactor: If ever it stops working (won't make another block), that means you don't need a block right now. Do something else.

  • Puzzle Solutions
      1. Make a block and push it through the second gap on the left side of the platform.

      2. Make two more blocks (one at a time) and push them through both of the gaps in the bottom side of the platform.

      3. Go all the way down stairs so that you're on the level that the blocks have landed on. (Note the Spirit Ring behind the last set of stairs.) Use the ring to shrink so you can walk across where you put the last two blocks.

      4. Turn the blue thing on the wall. The newly opened door shall be refered to as the blue door.

      5. Shrink and go back up so that you can use the newly opened door. Go to the left of the save point and down the stairs where you will see a box in the water. Shrink and examine the box. Use the tile and turn the red thing to open the red door.

Go up by the trash compactor and into the red door. (Shrink to get off this platform.)
6.A new trash compactor! Make a block and push it along the catwalk by using the spider webs to go around it when you get to a corner. Push the block off the catwalk at the place and direction indicated by the arrow in this picture:

7.Go back through the blue door. Go down the stairs on the left (get the Breastplate behind them if you haven't already) and shrink to walk across the newest block. Go up the stairs to the cage and shrink to get inside. Use the blue tile to enlarge and open the cage door from within.

8.Return to the second trash compactor. Make note of the new spider web. Make a new block and push it off as indicate by the arrow. It should fall on the path in front of the cage.

9.Go back through the blue door and push the block into the cage until it forms a bridge.

      10. Return to the second trash compactor. There is a new spider web. Push a block of the catwalk as indicated in the picture. It will fall on a platform below.

  • Go to where the block is waiting. Push it through the gap in the platform. (There is a mouse hole here with an EX GEM Lv1.)

  • Cross the bridge you made earlier to go down where the block fell and walk across. Turn the yellow thing. Go through the yellow door.

  • Get the treasure and go down the stairs. There's a mouse hole in the wall you can enter for a Kendama called Thunderbolt.

  • Shrink and walk behind the waterfall in the back.

  • There's a mouse hole with a Card of Lightning

  • As soon as you get to the next row of blue tiles, you'll get a small boss battle and a scene.

  • The next treasure chest is a Fake. If you don't think you're up to fighting it now, don't worry, as you can come back here later. Its treasure is an Elixer.

MELTOKIO (2)

Code:
Monsters:            Items/Treasure:               Misc:
                     -Wing Pack (E)
                     -Kuchinawa's Charm (E)

  • OPTIONAL: Have Colette name the dogs.

  • Go to Elemental Research Facility, the building behind the gate right of the inn.

  • Go to Zelos's house (second building to the right of the castle)

  • Return Elemental Research Facility.

  • Leave via the sewers.

GRAND TETHE'ALLA BRIDGE (3)

  • Return to the bridge. Along the right side, there's a scene.

  • Cross the sea to the pier on the other side of the bridge and go into Sybak.

SYBAK (2)

  • Enter the university via the secret entrance to the basement and talk to Kate. After the scene, leave.

  • OPTIONAL: Have Colette name the dogs.

  • OPTIONAL: Talk to the girl in the center of Sybak and talk to Kate again for Kratos Secret Mission sidequest.

  • Leave and follow the dirt path to Gaoracchia Forest.
