----------------------------------------------------------------------------
An isolated continent lies on Sylvarant, a world thrown into turmoil long ago by the gods. Cut off for years from the rest of the world until the age of sail, the realm ruled by Lord Aurelian XII was once a small kingdom, but has grown to a massive economic giant. Aurelian's father, Aurelian XI, was a kind ruler but things changed when his son came to power. He started building up the imperial army and strengthening the laws nationwide. So begins our saga, a story that will take us far beyond the politics of a small continent.
"This looks like a nice village to settle down for a while," a young blademaster remarked. His black cape and silver mail made him stand out among the simple farmers. At his side were his trusty shortswords and around his neck hung a bright orange Phoenix feather. "Well, Solstice," he said to himself, "I think we'll enjoy our time in Sindro." _________________

Standing on the marble steps of the Simrock Inn, Endymion Lunalis looked out over a frantic sea of humanity flowing from store to store, searching for treasures hidden among quaint trinkets. A sage from the shrine-isle of Galmia, Endymion had come seeking relics of the goddess Martel among the bustling mercantile streets but had met with limited success. Everywhere he went, he found forgery after forgery, fake after fake. He sighed with a heavy heart as his foot touched the dusty road and his silver cloak became one among thousands. He moved not of his own accord but at the mercy of those who relentlessly pushed him forward, toward his next uncertain destination. _________________

(OOC: Whenever I put a whole sentence in italics, it's Drake thinking. The only other time I'll use italics is to show Drake imphasising something when he's speaking out loud, or to maybe put imphasis on something in the narative. I doubt I'll ever do whole sentences for anything but thinking, though.)
Drayi Sullivan sighed, closing his ice blue eyes and leaning back in his chair. Ugh...how did I get into this mess?
He slowly brought his pint of ale to his lips--that was one nice thing about his new situation, he supposed...his mother would've never have let him drink like this--and lazily half-opened his eyes, looking around the inn.
I should've never have taken the job to come all the way out here. I hardly know where I am. I don't know the people, the culture...But it DID pay well...
Drake had agreed to take a job all the way out to...whatever this country was...guarding a band of merchants on their way to deliver their goods to this town. He hesitated at first...before then he had only taken small jobs around from where he was from...but the money was just too good to pass up. He didn't know the country they were taking him to, but the merchants seemed lazy and he doubted it could be THAT far.
It WAS that far.
Drake should've guessed that it was so much money for a reason. But hey, he wasn't starving, he had plenty of money to stay at the Simrock inn for at least a week, and he was sure to find some job somewhere around here long before then. Maybe he could find another pair of lazy, fat merchants to take him all the way back home.
...Home? What am I saying? You've got no home now, Drake. You're living on the road. Bye-bye, comfortable past. Hello, uncertain future.
...But it wouldn't do to worry about the future right now...he took another gulp of ale. Man, this stuff was pretty good...
He closed his eyes again, letting himself relax and take it easy. No use worrying about tomorrow. Live in the here and now... _________________

~Sindro City~
Up the rocky trail strolled Ayden Skyhart carrying in his right hand, his long steel blade Apochalypse. He wore a red cape that was draped unusually over his left arm. Slowly he ambled into the town and decided to get out of the heat underneath the shade of a tall pine tree. He laid his sword on the ground and gazed into the clear blue sky.
He pondered to himself,"My instincts have led me here...to this busy little town. Can I find it here, though?"
He glared at his arm now visible, and queerly deformed. It was daily reminder of his mission. _________________

The sun was setting as he arrived. He was tired for he was training all day. "Better get some rest, I used alot of energy today" he thought to himself. Seth fell asleep and he had these visions, little parts of the event four years ago but he does'nt know what they mean... Maybe one day, he will find the answers... |

Melethor Belwynn slowly limped along a small trail leading to Sindro. His face was badly scarred; his robe had many tears and was covered with dried blood. He thought back to the battle that had occurred a few days ago in the wilderness. A strange man wearing black robes had attacked him. Melethor had fought the man, and after a very long and fierce battle, killed him. However, Melethor had sustained many severe wounds. He was slowly making his way to Sindro in hopes of staying at the inn and recovering from his injuries.
Melethor sighed and made a few more feeble steps, then collapsed. He knew he could go no farther that day, he was utterly exhausted. So, spreading himself out on the grass, he thought to himself. "Why? Why does fate turn against me? Why is it that I am made to suffer so much?." As he thought of his, he was reminded of all his friends and his parents that had perished in the attack on his village 7 years ago. The memory brought tears to his eyes. Then after he ceased to weep, he was filled with anger. He knew he could not simply despair. He knew that was not what his parents would have wished. With this thought on his mind, he was filled with the hope of one day finding his future. He was determined to reach Sindro the next day and then, after he had recovered, continue on his wanderings. |

Shiroh found a corpse lying in the forest. It was a man robed in black. He said: "Poor man must have been robbed"
He than saw a puddle of blood but it did not belong to the corpse he had found, he decided to follow it until he found an heavily wounded man lying on the road being surrounded by wolves, the man was clearly still alive. Shiroh quickly scared the wolves away with his fireball spewing gauntlet and then came to the man's aid. The man opened his eyes a bit and softly says "My name is Melethor...." then he collapses yet again. Shiroh's chivalrous ways could not allow him to leave the man there so he took him down the road to Sindro on his arms. At this moment he is with him at the inn. _________________

~Sindro City (Outskirts)~
(OOC: I'm going to set the example of using these location markers. They make it clear to everyone where you are)
The evening was falling as the sun started dipping over the forest treetops. Solstice's feet tred on top of orange, yellow, and red leaves that had fallen from the trees. A chilly breeze blew passed him as he entered town.
"I had better stop at the inn for a night, but first," Solstice said. He headed over to the old post office just as the mail carriage was about to depart. He paid a few Gald to the mailman to have his message rush delivered to a friend in Desmon.
---Solstice's Letter---
To my friend Seth Akiron,
I write on the eve of my arrival at Sindro City. Recently I have heard rumors that the town is suffering the effects of a strange drought. My investigation has so far turned up empty handed, but I believe I could use your assistance here in Sindro. I have no doubts in my mind that this is some scheme from Lord Aurelian. By the time you receive this, I should await your arrival at the Sindro City Inn.
~Solstice Firasfrost
----------------------------
"Off to the inn then." Solstice bade the mailman farewell and headed for an old, but comfortable looking tavern.
"You are mister...," The innkeeper asked.
"Firasfrost," Solstice calmly replied.
"Ah, you're room is already prepared above. Room 4. Thanks for taking the time to make reservations," he told Solstice. _________________

(OOC: You have to read my long history to understand what is going on. You can use my vilain, Kornan, but you cannot defeat him without my character's help, he is too powerful. my character may also need help into defeating him in his weakened state.)
Max angelwings had travelled as far as the Lymania outskirts, only to find out that Kornan has left for another world. With the help of his great powers, he has formed a vortex that helped him track down Kornan's destination. There, he appeared on an unknow route. At this point, he began to wonder where he was, the young angel was confused about his location. Without a map to guide himself, nor a guide to tell him where to go, he was lost. He wandered calmly, feeling tired, which is not normal for any angels. He wondered, what was Kornan thinking? Why would he leave for this place? He soon stumbled on a familliar figure, Kornan himself!
Max led himself into attack postition and tried to slash him with his sword. Kornan dogged gracefully and grabbed Max's neck, lifting him off the ground. He was helpless, which is something that wasn't usual for him. Even though Kornan was a formidable opponent, he could still withstand his strength. But now, he was unable to get out of his grip, he felt weak! Kornan looked at him and laughed ¨So Max, enjoying your trip to Sylvarant? I bet you are wondering where this is.¨ Max only looked at his arch-enemy with disgust, he knew that Kornan was toying around with him and that wasn't really making him very happy. Kornan spoke again ¨Well I led to a land which is situated in another dimension, many centuries back in time. Knowing that your power increases over time, I decided to lure you into the past to render you weaker! And it seems to have worked didn't it?¨. ¨I'm sure you have something else planned Kornan... You always do.¨ said Max trying to release himself from his grip in vain. Kornan let go of Max who was left on the ground trying to catch his breath. ¨I do have something planned, but it is a surprise. I will not make the same mistake twice, this time, I shall kill you on the spot¨. Kornan stabbed Max on the chest and Max was left badly injued on the quiet road. Kornan seathed his sword and knelt down besides the agonizing hero ¨Now I shall let you succomb to your wound, farewell hero¨. Kornan left, leaving Max slowly falling into uncounciousness...
(OOC: I will need someone to aid Max, the poor angel is strong, but can't stand up to this kind of wound himself. Sure he could have healed himself, but he's uncouncious and can't ddo it himself.) _________________ "Taiyz: What the heck! You posted something! That's CRAZY. Downright INSANE, even." |

~Sindro City Inn~
Melethor awakens, he is lying down in a soft bed in what appears to be a bedroom in an inn. Puzzled as to exactly where he is and what happened, Melethor immediately thinks back to the events of the previous day. He remembers the fight, the long walk, stopping to rest... but can remember nothing more. His entire body aches terribly, vividly reminding him of the terrible battle and the long walk. He concludes that he has probably been taken to the Sindro City inn, and as that was his destination in the first place: he decides not to immediately worry about the means of him being brought there. So, he simply rests and silently makes plans for the days to come. |

(OOC: I don't RP often, so tell me if I do something wrong or confusing and I'll edit my post. ^^0 I decided to make the "opening scene" for my character in her restaurant--read the Bio thread--talking to a friend/co-worker. Sorry for the long post, but most of it is space.)
~Simrock City~
"Hey, Arene! I got table three's order!" Mandi, one of the chefs at Wind's Breath, called to her.
Arene scooped up the tray with her right arm and expertly wove her way through the tables towards the back of the restaurant. Simrock was bustling all year round, but it seemed like fall was the busiest time of the year. A child at table eight was wailing, a woman at table four was complaining, someone at booth two wanted a straw-- "Oof!" Arene gasped, bumping into someone. The tray for table three wobbled.
Arene looked up at and immediately her eyes fell on the guest's pair of pointy ears. The man excused himself and asked if he could take a booth. "S-sure, go right ahead," Arene mumbled, motioning to an empty corner. "We'll be with you in a minute." The man seemed to notice her ears as well, but remained silent about it and instead headed for his designated booth.
Arene served table three and returned to the counter. "Hey, Mandi," she said. "Tell someone to take table eight. I'm gonna serve the man at booth six." She turned to go, but Mandi reached over the counter and pulled her back.
"Oh, no you don't. He's an elf. You know how your parents feel about you talking to elves."
Arene pouted. "Mandi! For once Mom and Dad aren't around. I haven't really gotten to talk to any of them." Every time an elf came into the restaurant, her parents would make sure that another waiter or waitress served them and that Arene steered clear of them. "It's like they want me to be isolated from them or something."
"Yeah, because of that!" Mandi gestured pointedly at Arene's ears. "They don't want you striking up any conversations."
She sighed. She knew she was part-elf, but since her parents couldn't deny it, they ignored it. As if they wanted her to live her whole life without wondering. That was just impossible--she even had a physical reminder. Secretly, she wished she could leave and find out about her family's past and why her parents wanted to hide it from her. She didn't know if she could bring herself to leave the home that she loved, though.
They both watched as a pair of elves walked in. Mandi looked at Arene meaningfully. "Now, I believe the parents of the human child at table eight would like some assistance. Bring some crayons to them." She gave her a gentle but firm nudge. Arene sighed. Another day without answers... _________________

~Simrock City (The Wind's Breath)~
Yet again, Endymion's long and arduous day of relic-seeking had been uneventful. An elderly shop keeper had tried to sell him a golden strand of Martel's hair encased in crystal, but any sage could have easily seen that it was a ridiculous forgery.
As he alighted the stairs of the popular Wind's Breath diner, he began to wonder why the Galmian high priest had sent him here in the first place. It was a place filled with dishonesty and treachery, certainly not the type of place for a sage in training. He trudged onward through the doorway and walked rapidly toward an empty booth, staring at the highly polished yet well-worn floor as he thought deeply.
Suddenly and unexpextedly, he bumped into someone. Hurriedly, he apologized, looking up to see a young brown-haired waitress who seemed to be looking at his ears rather than his eyes. Of course, he, too, had noticed her elven ears, but she looked at his with a strange intensity. Embarrassed by the mishap, Endymion sat down quickly in the booth to which she had directed him, but he continued to watch the girl skillfully weave her path back to the counter. She seemed to be having a conversation with the chef and was looking in his direction almost longingly. To his surprise, it was not she who returned to take his order but rather another waitress sent by the cook with whom the mysterious girl had been speaking.
This new waitress introduced herself as Liana and chimed sweetly, "May I take your order?"
Before responding to her request, Endymion inquired, "Please, Miss, can you tell me the name of the other waitress working with you this evening?"
Liana whispered, "If I told ya, I'd have to kill ya!" She swiftly changed the subject to the events of the day, took his order, and walked back to the counter.
Confused by the sudden secrecy, Endymion sat quietly, staring at the table and wondering about the brown-haired, nameless girl all the while. _________________

~Sindro City (Inn)~
A peaceful night passed and Solstice awoke on the old fashioned yet homely bed of the inn. He looked at the wall clock that read 6:30 in the morning. Not wanting to wake the other patrons of the inn, Solstice went downstairs, deciding that he would have breakfast later.
"Now my investigation begins," Solstice said. Outside, the town was eerily quiet. Only the sounds of farm animals in a nearby barn interrupted the silence.
(OOC: If anyone feels like joining me for the investigation that's in Sindro City, feel free to) _________________

(OOC: That's my que.)
~Sindro City: Dirt trail on the edge of the city~
Ayden was outside the town enjoying the scenery. He was not successful in finding any way of removing the evil that dwelled within him. He walked slowly up the dirt road towards town. The silence was eery, almost unnatural. To ease his thoughts Ayden began to whistle a tune he heard a musician play the day before.
Ayden stopped whistling. He took refuge behind a tall bush and stared at a moving figure through the brush. The figure was walking closer and closer and Ayden made sure he'd not be visible to the man. The man moved by as if searching for something.
Ayden's eyes never left him for a second. Suddenly, a small animal jumped out of the bush startling Ayden, causing him to jump as a reaction.
"Aahh!"he yelled.
The man stopped and turned slowly. _________________

Solstice searched for a few minutes, looking for signs of footprints, the telltale sign that people had been here. He noted that there were some heavy ones made by the boots worn by Aurelian's cronies. Suddenly, out of nowhere, he heard a yell.
"What on Sylvarant?!" He said, quickly drawing his two swords. He spied another person hiding in the bushes scared by a small Wraith Lizard. "Don't move. Those Wraith Lizards are very poisonous."
Solstice eyed the white scaled lizard and readied his sword. "Sora no ken!" he shouted, swiping his two swords. The blast of air knocked the lizard off its feet and into the brush of the forest.
"You okay, sir?" Solstice inquired. _________________
