So we knew it was coming, even with all those delays and rumors, it finally happened. Sammy has purchased Sega for $1.4 billion. The new company will be called Sega Sammy Holdings. Now Guilty Gear and Virtua Fighter will be under one roof.

*bursts out laughing* You have to admit the company name is sure weird, I can already picture: "Hey dad, could I have some money for a Sammy Sega Holdings game?" "And this month's top selling game is Sammy Sega Holding's Sonic Heroes" *cracks up some more*
For the most part I couldn't care less about the merge, but if Sammy pressures Sega to leave the console business for the arcade industry, I'll have to add Sammy to my personal hit list |

| The merge COULD be better, maybe we'll get sonic games with better plots? I prefer the SA2 style plot myself...Maybe a bigger one with more stuff would be nice with a better story too...Hmm but I dunno much about sammy in the first place except that Guilty Gear OWNZ |

A while ago I thought Sammy was a dumb nickname for Sega
I can't see future Sega games with "Sega Sammy" on them. It just sounds wrong. SquareEnix, now that worked out well. |

I might be misunderstanding the article...but I think it says that "Sammy Sega Holdings" is just what they'll be called on the stock market. I think the respective games will still be either 'Sammy' or "sega'...but I dunno... _________________

I hope so, but it probably isn't likely, I mean take a look at Squarenix, but at least Squarenix sounds okay. _________________ Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's a pain. |

I like the new logo, especially how they bridged the two A's together with that arch... really nice. I'm also glad that Sega will merge all their developers together. _________________

they're going to have to fire some people if they do do that.
Sega still gets to keep it's name right? Sega-sammy is the name of the parent company, right? So we still get hear seeeeeegaaaaa and sega (said really fast) in video games, right? |
